Experienced guys will always take the day Asamoah Gyan. The most successful national teams in the world don't field rookies and inexperienced players in a major tournament. We have refused to learn
The most successful clubs field their best players. That is why the selections cut across. From Gavi to Busquets. Busquets is the best defensive midfielder in the team. Followed by Rodri. It is not about experience but quality they bring to the table.

Asamoah Gyan was the best striker. Asamoah Kwadwo was the best right back (rookie). Not select based on experience but quality.

Selecting a weaker player in quality based on experience is detrimental to the team. There is no way around it.

Salah didn't actually do anything special to leave Chelsea. He had only 13 leagues appearances in his two seasons there, so had no choice but to leave.

Iheanacho is the one who needs commendation, he made 46 league appearances for arguably the biggest team in England, Manchester City, and still left for Leicester.
not that he had no choice he believed in him self he was better than what he was being subjected to at Chelsea even though he had player's ahead of him and Iheanacho was seen as surplus to requirements and didn't have a choice than to move to Leicester. See what Jose said about Salah

A short story.

Salah: World watch 19-year-old score 7 and assist 3 in one of Africa's biggest senior league.
Iheanacho: World watch 17-year-old score 7 and assist 6 in the biggest competition in his age bracket, World Cup.

Salah: World watch him score 10, assist 11 in his first European season at Basel.
Iheanacho: World watch him score 10, assist 4 in his first European season at Man City.

Salah: World watch him score 10 assist, assist 6 in his second season in Europe.
Iheanacho: World watch him score 8, assist 3 in his second season in Europe.

Salah: World watch him struggle in new club, Chelsea.
Iheanacho: World watch him struggle in new club, Leicester.

Salah: World watch him struggle for second season.
Iheanacho: World watch him struggle for second season.

Salah: World watch him recover third time asking at Fiorentina, 9 goals + 4 assists.
Iheanacho: World watch him recover third time asking at Leicester, 10 goals + 4 assists.

Salah: World watch him score 15 goals and 7 assists in second recovery season at Roma.
Iheanacho: World watch him score 19 goals and 7 assists in second recovery season at Leicester.

Salah: Liverpool interested in him since his Basel days wait for him to prove he is not a fluke for another season.
Iheanacho: Unknown club interested in him since his Man City days wait for him to prove he is not a fluke for another season.

Salah: Scores 19 goals, 15 assists, rate of 0.96 contribution per game. Proves he is no fluke.
Iheanacho: Currently 3 goals, 5 assists, rate of 1.15 contribution per game. Proving he is no fluke.

Salah: Liverpool offer not 100M, not 80M, not even 60M, but 33M for him because he is 25 and plays for a lowly Roma side.
Iheanacho: Unknown club offer not 100M, not 80M, not even 60M, but 33M for him because he is currently 25 and plays for a lowly Leicester side.

Salah: Liverpool finally sign him for 39M.
Iheanacho: Unknown club finally sign him for 39M.

Salah: 2021 scores away hattrick against fierce rivals, to prove he is the best player in the world.
Iheanacho: 2025... Are you thinking what I'm...?
This is legendary. Amazing breakdown.

is it a striker issue?

This is the question they've been asking.

What would Ighalo have brought to the table for us to win the home game against C.A.R?

Sadiq will certainly offer more to the team..Much better than Onuachu... To start with,he is as much of a prolific scorer like Onuachu..and he is skillful, fast and creative...
In 209 career games, he has 111 goals and 46 assists.. that's 157 goal contribution in 209 games! For a striker, those are hug numbers..
Some might argue that he has been playing on low leagues for most of his career, but that's not entirely true... He played in Partizan in Serbia and recorded 23 goals and 19 assists in 52 games... With NAC Breda in Netherlands,he has 5 goals and 3 assists in 11 games...2 goals in 6 games for Roma.. The stats don't lie..

Onuachu is actually a very good striker...he is a proper goal poacher.. But the problem is that he isn't mobile enough.. He is the kind of striker you have to feed with the ball before he can perform.. his off the ball movement are poor..he can't even press well..
Right now,we don't have enough creative midfielders in our team, and our wingers are either poor crossers of the balls or more like wing forwards, so Onuachu will most likely be starved of service....that's why he is struggling..

I will totally support the idea of dropping him to give Sadiq his chance...
Sadiq has really improved from the timid kid many of us saw at the Olympics...
If we say Sadiq is a more complete striker than Osimhen, you people will come for our heads. Sadiq gives more assists, but Osimhen is still the best.

Yeah, I agree.

And we can also agree: while Salah's impatience seems to have paid off, Iheanacho's patience is appearing to pay off.

Different strokes for different folks.

only a confused coach will bring back Ighalo when we have players scoring goals in Germany and Italy

Ighalo is the current top scorer in the Saudi league, his club and international experience cannot be bought anywhere. Okocha,Kanu are they actively playing?
Efe Ambrose, Victor Mosis, Mikel Obi, Ogenyi Onazi, John Ogu I believe are still playing, should they be invited too? Make Ighalo borrow himself sense, dem wan lure am come 9ja so they go punish am for speaking out during the SARs process and saying shame on you Nigerian govt. DSS go just hook am straight. Tell him not to rejoin the SE o, na bait o, if you know him , this is a matter of urgency!!!!!!!!! Delay is dangerous!!!!!!!!!
