Me for example, I have few cars on uber. I use full synthetic Super tech for 20k miles .. Now due to the stop and go traffic and engine idling time. And the fact that an uber driver covers at least 2k miles a month. I change oil every 10k miles..... So I do have enough experience to contribute to the topic.......


Now on my personal cars regardless if I cover 5k or 7k or less miles . I try to change my oil every 3months, it is not good for Oil to be sitting in ur engine for too long....

Engine oil is cheap. But engine replacement is never cheap.........

Now on ur previous post . you stated that engine oil can last 3 years without changing it ... That I disagree, maybe u meant to say 3months ...

Well for someone like you who claims they own multiple cars, its a failure on your part not to know the weight of Oil you use, I asked a simple question, about the weight of your oil, all you came back with was brand and the cost of your engine Oil, ,You could Buy Shell oil for 50K a litre, if its the wrong weight your Engine is still going to fry even if you change it every week, If you buy any Engine oil and the weight is not clearly written on it RUN!!!
My Mrs Seinaa: I last had the Engine Oil changed Jan 2020, I'm going to change the Oil and filter when I return back there.
The problem with us Nigerians in Nigeria is we just turn any oil into our Engines trusting the mechanics, NOP, go on line and see your own Engine Oil weight irrespective of brand, if you can get eh said weight on Mobile happy days.
Engine Oil is not cheap, its the Life of your Engine, more expensive than petrol/diesel .Cheap Engine Oil will Kill your car.

However you can drive for 2 months and make 3K miles then you can do the change more often, Oil change is tied to mileage not necessary Leghnt, but in good practice 3 years is tops!, U can research on this and come back

Coolant is also another topic.. Nigerians like to use water instead of coolant... This is why u see alot of over heating cars, damage radiators etc....

most German cars are complex for our mechanics to understand when compared to the Japanese counterparts,so its easier to fix an accord or corolla or civic or Camry than a Benz or bimmer to an average mechanic in Nigeria,then secondly the electrical set up of most German cars is also a pain in the a*s to our rewires here,like I've always said,I won't drive Japanese car if I'm outside Nigeria,but to save myself the stress I will pick the jap mobile when I de naija,so in summary no be say German cars no make sense o,just that our environment no favor dem..lol

BMW iand Benz are expensive to maintain but truth be told they are good machines . Very stable and rugged on the road. They hardly somersault during accidents .Also thieves wont disturb you much if you go for German cars . [s]And when you enter those cars and handle the steering you will notice the difference immediately[/s] . Toyota cars are very light and common. Mechanic do know how to manipulate them and that is why they steal them easily also.. I went for German because of this reason.. They are for those who value good and great product difference.
