Useless set of pple. I wish the sister apps and their likes would follow as well..
Calling the debtor a fraud, I really don't care. But calling the rest of the family criminals is madness.
They will charge default fee and still defame. Isn't that wickedness. And when the 1 day defaulter pays up. Do they send msgs to rectify the damage..
Thunder fire all of them

What you should have asked instead of ranting is WHY ALWAYS SOKO LOAN?

Why always soko loan cos they are passionate about thier hard earned money they brought from outside Nigeria to come and invest in Nigeria

But unfortunately they are watching it go down the drain in millions, nobody dey pay back loan for this Nigeria. Do you know how many yahoo boys recruit people to download loan apps just to apply and get the money

Go and ask all the Nigerian banks the history of bad debts and go to all Nigerian courts and ask how many court cases involving Nigerians and bank loans

Someone logged out of his ZenithMobile app and he didn’t see loan option and had to log into your own app to get a loan

Why you no ask them what happened to their bank account and why can’t they apply for a loan there

Go and ask zenith bank what happened when it started easy loan option *966# last year and how millions of people started opening zenith bank account for free so they can use the code to apply for a loan and leave the account overdrawn like that without paying

I like your reasoning. Due diligence like proper KYC and operating under the framework of the law. Do you you know all of them are not licensed by the CBN, not active on CAC portal and hence they don't pay tax?. They want to make quick money and it's not going to work

why would a company give loan without proper documnetation. Two wrongs nevrr make a right. We always like to blame in this country without addressing the root cause. Why would a company think the best way to retrieve their money is blackmailing someone who never signed a guarantors. Do the banks do that. Come on, they got what they deserved. Tbh everyone knows why they wouldnt 100 percent want to operate under the framework of the law, and it will be hard for any company to make money off offering personal loans in this present Nigeria.

Even Nigeria 50 years ago, i doubt there is any private equity company that has made a fortune from lending or equity funds.

Me i dont know why they didnt just lend thier money to Banks, or Nigerian companies on the NSE, or simply just go and buy all the houses in Lekki and be reselling

Like due diligence book side dey, due diligence street dey.

How can you bring 1 million dollars into Nigeria and you start giving it out as unsecured loans, so many many businessses you can do that you will make double in no time.

Why waste your time lending to people and start harrassing them to collect it back

If you don't use iron hands on Nigerians, they will take you for granted.

that's why I don't blame those aggressive loan companies, why take what you can't pay back in the first place?

it's obvious Nigerians take pride in running people's business down.

Most of those credit companies begin to harass you for repayment even before the due date. This is very common with this very Soko Loan which would begin to make deductions from your linked account as early as 12:00 am of the due date i.e. 24 clear hours ahead of the due time. Some will give you a call promising to increase the amount of loan you worth only for they to decline your next loan application after actually paying before the due date. Some of them like L-Credit double debit your account on the day of repayment and all your calls to complain will never be answered neither will your complaint message on the customer care section of their app ever receive a response. It is time the authorities deal with those unprofessional ones among them.

Why should a company even give out loans to anyone his or her bank is never going to give out a loan too

Like why

The problem is not proper documentation, the problem is not knowing how to do business in Nigeria.

Someone logged out of his GTB APP to log into your app to ask for a loan,

why you no ask am what happened to his GTB app, shey loan option no dey there ni and WHY

Most Nigerians on their part do not like repaying debt. Selfish and wicked lots.

See many of them on this thread jubilating sokoloan is shutting down but they fail to realize that business closure such as this will result to loss of jobs and ultimately, loss of revenue for the government because a closed business will not pay tax. At the end, we need to ask ourselves salient questions.

One of the worst lending company in Nigeria, make them shut down. Poor customer service.

Took a loan from them sometimes last year in the morning around 8am due to an emergency, when I didn't see alert till 9:47am I called them several times to cancel the loan request all their numbers no go, so I resulted to mail them that I didnt need the loan anymore. 6:58pm their alert came in sine 8am that I requested for the emergency loan.

Bastards still insist on me paying the loan even when I sent them evidence of calling them since and the mail. Stupid Company

I immediately mailed them to clear my data off their platform that I'm done using them. Dem no hear word
I had the same experience. I applied but saw alert after 2 days when I had sorted myself out through another means yet they were expecting me to pay back with interest.

The part where you assumed they are shutting down "because of just N10m fine".

If you read, you'd see the part where criminal charges have been filed against their directors for invading users privacy - this is the reason for the shut down. Not the fine.
It wasn't stated neither that they're shutting down because criminal charges is being filed against there directors.
They might be shutting down for more than one reasons in which what the guy said might be included. Nobody knows

I won't join insultive words with me.
This was my case. I collected loan from them.. 10k with interest making 13k. I paid 9k and they called me that very day. And i told them, i was at work as i will pay up when i close. 15mins later, people started calling me about the messages sent by them.
Do you know that, even after i completed repayment, they continued to send messages to my contacts. How do you explain that? Don't justify other people's experience.

We are talking about breach of privacy you are talking about NPL ruining institutions.

Its not your fault. The Nigeria society has fed you shit for years. The only thing you see now is shit.

Are you saying everybody in Nigeria that takes a loan will default?

If that were true, you wont have more an ocean of P2P lenders having a filled day with your economy.

And you have the mouth to question my mentality when yours is wallowing in the gutters.

According to this report. Over 100k users gave them a bad review. Meaning that they may have taken a loan from them.
The lowest interest this sokoloan charge is ₦3,000
So, if you do the maths, you will fined out that they made ₦300,000,000 from just 100k users borrowing ₦5k from them

This people make too much money to just shut down because of ₦10million fine.
