The teachers in that school are terribly stupid. What message were they trying to pass. What rubbish?? Subjecting the kids to this cruelty.

It appears every where is flooded there. I think it is a normal thing for those living around Makoko-Egun locations. The floods even harrass people while sleeping.

If the government demolishes there and push them away, it become a problem. If they are allowed to continue staying there, it may appear cheap for them as the house rents among the wooden houses are very cheap. However they will still be exposed to disease outbreaks, fire outbreaks on the wooden houses and flooding issues.

It’s just a dilemma!

If anyone is able to rise above the level, they move out to better and more expensive locations and thus escape there. But I can bet you that those people will not allow the govt to demolish the shanties as they will be rendered homeless.

This is saddening

Why would the teachers let them go through this?

I see things like this and wonder what the hope of the next generation is.

First things first. I blame d school authority for asking little children to stand inside dirty water all in d name of assembly. As far as I am concerned, d school administrators failed in their responsibility to protect these children. No excuse for whatever govt that doesn't even but at d same time, it doesn't make sense allowing these kids stand inside dirty water.

Those blaming our leaders in the front page. I think the major blame should be directed towards the teachers and owner of the school. Why must u put them inside that dirty water, this is rubbish and the school management and teacher should be arrested. Can't they do the assemble in a classroom.
