Since 2023 is obviously out of the equation UNLESS there's a consensus for Igbo presidency, do you think that the south has a chance of clinching the presidency by the next 10 years? The fact is that the north is solidly united (even with the so-called middle-belt) unlike the south, due to the traditional greed of a section of the south (Yoruba). It is obvious that all the north needs to clinch the presidency for another 10 years is just the presentation of one candidate, any candidate, even if he is Pantami, Malami or El-Rufai. Now with the northern consolidation, it is possible that southerners would become the minorities.

Now, let me tell you why the South is not united. It is not because any particular section of the South is greedy. It is because of 2 reasons:

1. All of the South are greedy and stupidly arrogant.
2. Southerners don't respect one another's feelings. For example, look at the way you (I mean YOU the OP) has mentioned Yoruba without caring that you will hurt the feelings of Yorubas. Now, tell me how the average Yoruba would be happy uniting with you.

Southern Nigerian are very stupid. If they knew what is coming to them, they will unite TODAY. Go and listen to the message THE POLITICS OF TERRORISTS AND BANDITS and EVIL STRATEGY IN THE SOUTH on Telegram @ExpoNg and you see how stupid most Southerner like the op are.

Politically, "South" is nothing but an illusory term. It doesn't exist as proven in 2015 by Tinubu et al.

It is quite possibly for the south to hold power for many years as they want but, the only problem is unity, north has nothing in terms of education, intellects, human resources, mineral resources and agricultural lands but greed and selfcentereness made the south a subject of the north. In term of strength in unity north can never March that of the south

Sorry if the truth hurts you. Good ...You should not put yourself in the shoes of Jonathan in 2015 when the same Yoruba blatantly betrayed him for the greed you deny. Or in the shoes of Ndigbo and dozens of other ethnic groups in the south. The truth we all should admit is that there is no south. What we have in Nigeria is Fulani and others. That is why no southerner can become president. So you think greed, avarice and opportunism being expressed by the Yoruba at the detriment of southern Nigeria is some sort of smartness? YOUR tribe has practically destroyed any semblance of unity in the south and the consequence shall be borne by all, even you. Continue in your guile and wiles. It'll soon shock you.

Very true. How then can a southerner aspire for presidency the only lifeline of the north? The north will continue taking advantage of that lack of unity.

Yoruba did not betray Jonathan, they played politic of interest. Since Jonathan government was marginalizing them they had to form Alliance with the North they felt would look after their interest.

Don't we all think so? Op thinks that an Igbo presidency will better his life, you think that Yoruba presidency will do the same, northerners think that presidency is the edge the north has. The funny thing is the major people pushing this regional divides from both sides simply doing it out of their own self interest, they don't really care for any regional interests or any ideology and I know you this.

There's nothing complex about having tribal/ethnic interests. But sometimes even you as a tribalist have to sit back and ask yourself of what use is it? Igbo, Yoruba and fulani identities are all largely human constructs, self interest is actually more logical than chasing after some tribal or ethnic interest I've come to realize. The whole tribal divide isn't even real tbh, just an extension of people's self interest.

Man, even alot of what we call religion itself is human construct cus you're saying it like there aren't ideologies behind these things that shape people's desires and creates those tribal divides.

Lol, even ideologies are human constructs, the real issue is the human desire to always identify with a group not just those ideologies and why they key into those ideologies is for their own interests and fears. The average nigerian won't ask the tribe or ethnicity of the pilot flying the plane he is boarding but would be more concerned about the health of the plane simply because it's in his self interest to do so, and kids join gangs not necessarily out of self interest but just to identity with a group. Tribalists are like the gang kids.

If I got your point you mean the west played politics of interest. Why can't other tribes in the south not play politics of interest in the next coming elections? A Yoruba man was the president in 1999, a Yoruba man was the VP in 2015 and a Yoruba man is still seeking for president in 2023. Guy check am nah? If the west really care for others, especially the Igbos they should support the Igbos in getting the presidency.

The reason the tribe or ethnic group of the pilot isn't needed is simply because it's not needed to fly a plane but comparing a plane to a complex situation like nigeria is simplifying the issue again, for me it's not just about ethnicity but also ideology, and don't talk like group identity is bad.

Why do you think PDP won in Abia, Anambra, Delta and Rivers States?...The majority of the political players in these areas have their interests in the PDP.

In the North, different States voted for different parties and you won't see Northers lamenting that some parts of the North are greedy.

Political decisions are shaped by the interests of the key political elites in the areas.

You are right to some extent. The interests of the common man may be limited to just having their tribal man as president.

However, the interest of an aspirant for Senate goes beyond that. It also includes making sure his party wins because this will boost his chances of becoming a senator (self interest).

Let me illustrate it to you in simple ways;

The interest of the igbos was to support Atiku to be president (if Atiku had won in 2019, they won't be talking of Igbo president by now) so that after he serves his terms, Peter Obi will become president. This is a legitimate interest. However the plan didn't work out as expected.

The interest of the Yorubas was to support Buhari to finish his term so that a S/west candidate can support him. The plan worked, Buhari was re-elected but somehow, the other group whose plan failed are saying that the Yorubas should not reap the fruits of their labour.

Be sincere for once, if you are in their shoes, how will you feel sir?

I get your point. My main issue is that Yoruba shouldn't be thinking of presidency at all. Since they got it in 1999. Let others taste the seat of President? Then after Igbos, then can then leave it open for all. But my fears is that Nigeria as a whole is not yet matured for all inclusive kind of governance. It's really a pity.

Yoruba is NOT a person.

How do you force millions of people to tow a particular way of thought sir? How do you tell millions of people to agree to a particular party policy?

The most appropriate body to enforce zoning is the political parties. Even at this, the power is more of persuasion and concesus rather than legalistic because some aggrieved party members will still disregard the zoning decision claiminig that it infringe on their democractic rights e.g Abubakar Rimi (2003 PDP primaries) and Goodluck Jonathan (2015 PDP sole candidacy).

The PDP which morally ought to support the quest of the Igbos for the presidency is maintenaining a deafening silence on the matter.

By the way, suppose no Yoruba politician is contesting, do you honestly think that this will automatically place an igbo man in Aso-Rock?

If anything, it will just give Atiku or Tambuwal

Yeah that's very likely. Atiku is too power hungry. For me I am just tired of the whole system, so much hardship in the land. Though anyhow the elites plan to do it, we all go manage am like that. The present Igbo leaders are just sell outs. The only thing that will give Easterners joy is if Biafra is actualized. Lastly VP Osinbajo or Peter Obi are the only people that can lift Nigeria from this nonsense happening presently. We don't need Atiku or Tambuwal for now, mediocrity shouldn't continue again.
