In the meantime while some special individuals are pretending to have lives traveling & preaching Doom for West Africa becuase some ashy anorexic terrorist are still limping around Lake Chad Tigray rebels have took Kombolcha. A key town a mere 378 Km(7 1/2 hour) drive from the national capital Addis Ababa killing over 100+ youths and an unknown number of elders during the steamroll.

The Tigrey claim to have just went through a "mini genocide". What will happen if they reach the capital?

At this rate some of us up North want have to worry about GERD at all. East Africa or at least the Horn just might collapse. I don't appreciate the Dam fiasco but I pray it never comes to that.

Those in glass houses should not throw stones.

When Ethiopia was unleashing genocide, rape and denying humanitarian aid to the Tigray people and people were dying like flies.

Ethiopia refused to be reasonable and solve the issues by with dialogue.

They pushed these people into a desperate corner were they had one choice FIGHT or DIE against all odds they have fought and now the tables are turning.

Ethiopia is NOW facing a very real existential threat.

The schoolchildren were reportedly abducted along the Igarra-Auchi Road, near Ikpeshi, Akoko Edo local government area.

Gunmen, on Tuesday, intercepted a school bus belonging to Glory Land Group of Schools in Edo State and abducted two pupils.

According to the News Agency of Nigeria, the vehicle conveying the victims in the company of other pupils was intercepted at gunpoint, and the abductors dragged the two pupils from the vehicle into a bush.

They were said to be returning to Auchi, Etsako West local government area of Edo, after school when they were taken by their abductors.

The schoolchildren were reportedly abducted along the Igarra-Auchi Road, near Ikpeshi, Akoko Edo local government area.

The spokesman for the police command in the state, Kontongs Bello, confirmed the abduction and said policemen, soldiers and vigilantes were combing bushes to rescue the pupils.

He was quoted as saying, “Two students were kidnapped, but efforts are on to rescue them unhurt. Men of the Nigeria Police, soldiers and vigilantes, are already combing bushes to rescue the students.”

The attack comes a few hours after gunmen invaded the staff quarters of the University of Abuja abducting six people.

It was gathered that the gunmen invaded the senior staff quarters at Giri in Gwagwalada Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) at 1 am on Tuesday and operated for about an hour.

- Mount roadblocks, conduct stop and search - Heavy traffic

There is palpable tension in Abuja, FCT, following security reports of a planned attack on the Nigerian capital by bandits and terrorists.

Security reports obtained by the military late Tuesday night indicated that attackers were planning to enter the FCT through the Abuja-Keffi expressway and other entry points.

Troops have been placed on high alert and are deployed to strategic locations where they are mounting security checkpoints to monitor, prevent and arrest any potential attackers.

The soldiers have mounted roadblocks at all entry and exit points into the FCT, and are conducting stop and search operations on specific vehicles and passengers.

The operation, which began midnight Tuesday, is said to have led to the arrest of some suspects who are now assisting the security operatives with useful information, Daily Sun has gathered.

Motorists, especially those who live along the Abuja-Keffi expressway in areas like Kugbo, Karu, Jokwoyi, Orozo, Karshi, Nyanya, Mararaba, One-man village, Masaka, among other satellite towns, are finding it difficult traversing the road as a result of roadblocks mounted by soldiers of the Guards Brigade, who are responsible for the security of the President, his immediate family, VIPs, as well as the FCT and its environs.

Some residents told Daily Sun that they left their homes as early as 6:30 am but are yet to arrive at their places of work.

A military source, who does not want to be identified on print, told Daily Sun that similar checkpoints have been mounted around Abaji, Zuba and Bwari areas to arrest suspects before they gain access into the capital city.

The source said that the invasion of the University of Abuja early Tuesday morning by bandits who abducted some staff members and their families, may not be unconnected to the security measures, with troops in hot pursuit to apprehend the kidnappers.

The source further stated that while authorities are aware of the effect on residents, motorists and other road users of the security points mounted by the soldiers, the security of the FCT and its residents was crucial, asking that the public bear with the temporary inconvenience.

When contacted, the Commander of the Guards Brigade confirmed the security measures at checkpoints by soldiers.
