From my understanding, it's called "Placenta Encapsulation" which gives some benefits to nursing Mothers and according to (HAH,2019) "The possible benefits of placenta encapsulation include: a decrease in postpartum mood disorders, increased production of oxytocin, a decrease in stress hormones, restoration of iron levels following bleeding after birth, and increased milk supply".

I have seen some mother turn in into capsules and take it as tablet but never seen someone drinking it as a drink.

This was my brother's favourite when he served in Delta state.
He said he'd have to go all the way to town (from the village where he was) to get it.
He said it was always worth it because after eating it, that would be it for the day, 'cause it's very filling. cheesy
