Performance and experience
TheGoodJoe:

If we want to go with FIFA rating, then I will say the coach is not making a fair selection but sentimental choice.

Ironically, I can't make a sound analysis being not too versed with their football. However, selection should always be about the best players.

A coach selecting based on age or experience, lacks sound judgment of quality.

From the perspective of FIFA, he is not going with his best players.

Performance and experience

What is the need for experience if you can not perform better? The reason why the likes of Iniesta and Xavi became top players for Barcelona in their teens is that they were better than the rest.

Messi was among the best players in the world at his teen. Was that experience? People use experience to get better but that doesn't mean they will get picked over younger players that are already better.

So experience is not the criteria to select but strictly the quality the player brings to the table.

The question is simple. Is he better? If no, he has no reason being in the team.

grin grin grin Don't think I have ever seen a player so happy to see their teammate sent off.

Just remembered he had a younger brother, Egwutu Oliseh. I can't remember which coach subbed him in a match, Azubuike wanted to beat the coach. That guy was something else.
cheesy

Competition is becoming tougher 4 him with d addition of ejuke and lookmun
He made the right decision..
Like I've mentioned before, not all players enjoy playing for their national team...It often takes it till on their club performance...
But once proper tournament start,he will be ever available.. lol

Napoleon55:
The only thing adding a question mark on ndidi's status as world class is d club he plays 4,
otherwise he is a genuine world class.

Ejuke and chukueze are authentic top players, and potential world class.
While osimhen is almost world class.

Ndidi - world class
Osimhen - 90% world class
Chukwueze - top player
Ejuke - top player

Others are average, above average and below average.

Iheanacho - above average/top player
Iwobi - above average/top player
Musa - above average

Ighalo- average
Simon - average
Onuachu - average
Aribo - average
Etabo - average
Onyeka - average
Balogun- average
Ekong- average
Awaziem- average
Aina- average
Sanusi- average
Maduka- average

And this team is good enough for AFCON trophy and WC Q/final
Oga Napoleon the team no get identity we dey talk about World class, average abi na top class.

Bro make I no lie you,no world class player in Nigeria team,Ndidi just need to quit Leicester team to push for it,likely Osimehn would even attaint it before him....Ejuke and Chuckwueze are average for now with good potential to become top class if they can manage their career with good agent.....Iwobi is always hot and cold,so he is average...Iheanacho of Man city has the potential to be a world class but now average....Musa is average though he had four world cup goals but for his football career since that Leicester move, damn too poor.

The issue is simple, the team lack identity and today football we are watching is just too technical to just put 11 players on the field without any sound technical directives....this is more reasons we lost to a team like CAR,Sudan came up from 4 goals down to level up.

My man wahala dey and only Rohr can solve it...not only on this thread, fans are tired of Super eagles and they don't even believe in Rohr again, never did Nigeria recall a player from retirement even great Okocha didn't have that privilege but Rohr is telling us Ighalo is the answer....hope it works well.

Sydney 2000 Olympics!!!

Back row (left to right): Yakubu Aiyegbeni of Macabbi Haifa, Julius Aghahowa, Solomon Okoronkwo of Shakhtar Donetsk, Garba Lawal, Godwin Opara of PSG, Greg Etafia I think of Moroka Swallows in the South African PSL. What a goalkeeper he was!!

Front row (left to right): cant remember no. 6, Pius Ikedia of Ajax, Celestine Babayaro of Chelsea , Victor Agali of Schalke 04, Azubuike Oliseh – junior brother of the legendary ex captain

They were a decent team but in the end they flopped because under the weight of expectations and comparison with their immediate gold winning predecessors.

Chukwueze and ejuke are still regarded as average players apart from some people here ,we need to be sincere they are still average players ,do they have the potential to be world class ? Yes they do but they need to improve ASAP before they both clock 25

Osimhen is not 90 percent world class but still above average at least ,he needs to keep working hard and consistency is needed for the next few seasons also

Iheanacho is a little above average but dude is not helping himself

Musa is an average player
Iwobi is an average player

Ndidi is world class according to me but according to the football world he is not but above average ,maybe because he his yet to play for a big club

I know many of you will come for my head because the truth is bitter ,but it’s fine

According to Ivory Coast coach Patrice Baumelle Wilfried Zaha has refused his call-up for November qualifiers "because he always comes back home sick after every call-up".Baumelle also added that Zaha "is pondering his Ivory Coast NT future".

Everybody is tired of super eagles of rohr,
We r just consoling ourselves with d few decent players we have.

Some of us knew that most of our players r average with d exception of few,n our coach is now below average.
And that nigerian spirit is almost no longer in existent, thanks to our politicians.

We r depending on luck now to win d next afcon,
even d WC play-off will b by luck.

It means you are not only quarrelling with Rohr but with the Ivorian coach too. Most people are just programmed to argue every point here. Month ago I called Ejuke a Magician some people descended on me but today he is rated the third best dribbler in the world.

coaches select by performance and experience. Brazil have miranda 37, Thiago Silva 37 , Sandro 30, Danilo, Coutinho 29, even Alves 38 yrs and unattached. They didn't call for Vinicius and Richarlison.I don't argue on Nairaland but undermining the importance of experience in football is like calling apple orange

No 6 is Ogbonnaya Kanu.
This was a period the super eagles players believed that their brothers too can make it and this made Nigeria fans to question Bonfrere Jo on the inclusion of Azubuike Oliseh and Ogbonaya Kanu.

I remember a friend made this team Sunday Johnson who Thijs Libregtht described as the combination of Findi George and Tijani Babangida. He was the only outfield home based player that made the team...extremely talented but lost it to a terrible injury....Bright Igbinadolor,Gbenga Okonowo of Barcelona was in the team..late Sam Okoye too,Blessing Kaku,Furo Iyenemi,Henry Onwuzureke with three standing in player Chikeleu Iloenusi ex husband of actress Stephanie Okereke, also goalkepper Ettoh Ijoh and Henry Isaac.

Bad outing and the team can be compared to Nigeria Seoul Olympic team who had it poor too with Rashidi YEKINI,Dominic Iorfa,David Ngodigha,Christian Obi,Austin Eguavoen,Bright Omokaro,Chidi Nwanu,Andrew Uwe,Samson Siasisa,Dahiru Sadi,Ademola Adeshina,Quicksilver Sylvanus Okpala,Wole Odegbami the team lost all the three matches with 4-0 bashing by Brazil which I will never forget.

Note that i didn't based my rating on current form alone,

Musa of today is below average,i can't argue that,
he is not even suppose to still b in the team,
but u can't just throw away all his past exploits n rate him on his recent performance.
A litle bit above average on his whole career is better .

I can still rate iwobi and iheanachoi as above average at least for SEs,their problem is their inconsistency.

Ighalo is an an average player, now and in d past.

I only rate osimhen as almost world class based on this season.

By the way i have always maintained here whenever they start singing about the abundance of talents we parade,
that we no longer have the kind of players we use to parade in d past,
that most our players r average.

But we still have atleast 3 top players in osimhen, ndidi and chukwueze, now ejuke is included.
With 3 top players in your team is enough for any tournaments.
That's my opinion.
Nacho no be top player again? The guy was monstrous last season.
