It would be helpful if you give a background on your previous experience in Nigeria.

The quick jobs you can do her the regular manual jobs like warehouse operative, care jobs, security etc.

It’s Xmas season and there are currently a lot of these jobs available. So, it shouldn’t be difficult getting one.

You can also check around for agency that speed up getting these jobs.

Thank you for your reply. I hold a BSc psychology and MSc Clinical psychology from University of Ibadan, with over 2.5 years of combined clinical experience in mental health settings. I resigned as the lead clinical psychologist in one of the biggest public/private partnership specialist hospital in Abuja.
I am hoping to get a mental health support worker job for a start and then progress to assistant psychologist and finally to trainee clinical psychologist ( As You have to live in the UK for 3 years before you can qualified for trainee role because it is NHS funded).

Thanks.

When did you do your covid test for return to the UK? 7days after you arrived Nigeria?
I only booked the day 2 lateral flow test using boots.co.uk and it was delivered to my house before I arrived yesterday. This morning I did the test at home and uploaded the result on there site…
At MMA they asked for my passenger locator form, NHS vaccine pass or proof of vaccination and proof of day 2 lateral flow test.

Life is full of new experiences.
What people have been trying to tell you is that there is basically no formal employment you can start overnight, even the care homes will require a DBS check.

since inception, I have always had something for tech, but I didn't have much money that can give me a breakthrough from nigeria to here
now I'm in the uk on a tier 2 visa and I have this colleague that is studying computer science with software engineering
though he is British and he sometimes brags about how he is leaving us rekindles my passion for tech
He said the tuition is 6k and completely online makes it more interesting
I have these concerns and the reason I bring it to you our pillars
1. on a tier 2 visa is it illegal for me to do this masters that is completely online?
2. is it worth it or I'm better off with some courses

thanks all in anticipation

Any form of education especially in tech is worth it. You’re not after the certificate but the tech knowledge to get a tech job. So it being online doesn’t matter, if anything it means you can do it conveniently while working on your T2.

Wish you well.

While I am not certain nor sure about the route for psychologists, I know it will not be difficult for you getting a job as MHSW.

Your experience in MH will be useful but most organisations require at least 6 months of UK experience, so you might have to get in to other support jobs then move into MH once you able to.

Also, you will need some trainings such as PMVA and MAPA, this is based on Trusts and some agencies give you for free.

Wish you luck.

Kindly indicate which one of them, I am unable to give an extensive information on all three at this time. I will prefer to take them one after another.

I also noticed that some people tried reaching me via email, I would prefer providing answers to questions here for the benefit of everyone interested.

I am looking at exactly this - GRC, Audit. Already researched and outlined CISA, CISM, CRISC, CISSP , ISO 27** and CGEIT and what I would like to work towards within 2 yrs in the UK (Seriously eyeing the top 4 even though they dont really pay well)

Can I send a DM if you are in this field or can give some additional insight?

I await your response

Thanks

I will suggest you state the insight you need here for others to learn from my responses, we might also get more contributions from other experienced folks here.

Hello everyone on this group. My name ist Moyo and I’m currently doing an MBA at Coventry London. Please I need heads-up in getting a job. Living in London which is pretty expensive is overwhelming for me and it’s been hard getting a job. Getting here in September I did some security job which at the end I wasn’t paid what I deserved because as usual the 'Nigerians' at the helm showed who they are made of. Had to stop it, not cause I could t handle the jobs but the wickedness of these people that feel like mini God. I’ve applied for several Amazon warehouse jobs but they all want full time and not students. Anyone got ideas on getting a job? Only got classes twice in a week and the other days free. I wouldn’t mind anyone in London who can guide me through as it’s been me alone tryna find a path in this cloudy route and it’s not been easy.

If you were not paid your worked hours correctly and you have proofs, you can google which organisation to report them to or so.
You can go online and apply for coro related jobs e.g kit packing or other support jobs in that field, you can look into hospitality jobs- waiting, bar, event stewards etc - they are booming this time of the year. Parcel sorting with royal mail or other delivery companies
Go to indeed, input your city, scroll through the jobs posted and see how you can fine tune your cv to some of these jobs. Apply to many and pray/hope for the best ones.

You’ll just do that day 7 test for Naija. It’s usually 7 days after you enter naija. (you’ve already paid for it via the Nigeria travel portal). but nobody will ask you for the results because they’ll see it on there system that you’ve done it. At least nobody asked me.

No other test is required for fully vaccinated travellers on your way out of Naija. Just those things started on .gov.

Don't know much about clinical psychology but a quick Google search shows that you will need to be eligible for public funds before you can get NHS funding. If you are already a citizen, then you should be fine.

You will pay it separately at the same time. Separately because you'll get separate invoices. At the same time because you will need to pay your IHS to complete the visa application process.
