Rights of foreign lawyers/firms

Foreign lawyers practising in Nigeria must have been admitted to the Nigerian Bar.

Without admission, a foreign lawyer cannot practise law in Nigeria except to a limited extent where he/she obtains a warrant from the Chief Justice for the purposes of a specific proceeding or appeals arising from such proceedings (see above, Temporary
services ).

In Nigeria, firms are a vehicle for organising legal practice but not as legal personalities being capable of practising law (Okafor v Nweke (2007) 10 NWLR (Pt 1043) 521 ).

Only lawyers can practise law, so foreign law firms as such cannot practise law in Nigeria. Foreign lawyers must pass the Nigerian bar exams to practise law in Nigeria.

He can wait outside till the case was done for today before he can ask DSS for permission to see his client. He's just an ordinary spectator and doesn't need to be inside the court room.

There is no case against mazi Kanu. Buhari and his courts are just mad. They are making a fool of themselves without knowing.

By January, they would move it to September 2022. What a people. Maggots!!

Is the trial going on in a Nigerian Court or a Court of a secret cult?

That freedom is NOT absolute. Only the person on trial and his lawyers are guaranteed the right to be in court. All others have privilege to be in court and that can be withdrawn at any time

So when he comes to Nigeria to see his client over international cases, it means he is practising law in Nigeria?

Common sense is not common

You apparently would have thought you made sense, but you ended up exposing your crassness and empty headedness.
Did the foreign lawyer told you he/she was coming to appear and take part in the conduct of MNK's case
Little wonder, they say, silence sometimes is golden.

The empty one here is obviously you. Why did Nnamdi Kanu legal team walk out? They foolishly left the court room because the foreign lawyer was not allowed inside.

It's obvious you are ignorant of what transpired.

It is 100% their business to determine who gets close to Kanu or not because they are responsible for his safety. Only the trial judge can overrule them on that count

Who brought him to Nigeria? Whose custody is he under? As far as that environment is concerned, the DSS makes decisions.

Nnamdi Kanu is their property and once the court supports the decision to expell the foreign lawyer from the premises, they have the right to enforce it.

The lawyers can go to court and challenge that decision.

Talking about paying, kanu that you have been paying for over 6 years now, has he gotten you the Biafra?

Is killing Igbo's and destroying igbo businesses what you paid him to do?

I really don't know how most of you walk around with such hatred. Let even assume you are right why can't you say things the way they are.

Is it IPOB that are defending themselves or their legal council?

What happens to "legal Council representing IPOB are ignorant of Nigerian legal systems"?

Back to your point, do you think it is everyone that is as lazy as you are?

Of course his council did their homework and including the white lawyer is to expose the irregularities within our legal system to the world.
