So the course is more important than the School..
undecided
So which will u choose
Good course like medicine or engineering from a less recognised school like sokoto state university
Or
Useless major like Mass comm or psychology from a well notable school like UI , ABU ,UNILAG..

First of all, a degree is a piece of paper that a school gives or accredit a student upon the completion of a major. University of Ibadan is a good recognize school, University of Abuja is another one. Even a less recognized school can still be play a major role in one's career , if they are teaching right and the students are learning a lot from school and applying what they learn in respective professions. Good courses carry weight , the most important thing is to pass the exam and one can practice what they learnt in school well. This is when skill plays a role, many come from big school and do not have the skills to practice what they learnt in real life. Some end up as quack doctors, engineering and so forth. Big school reminds me of brand clothes, and less recognized school reminds of regular clothes, they both provide the same function of covering someone unclothedness.

I haven’t recouped my school fees yet . We thank God so far .

I studied Accounting from a state university.I graduated with 2.1(4.02). I became Chartered Accountant early this year but yet to be inducted.

I believe investment in personal development never fails though it might take a while but it will surely yield tangible result.

Sometimes it can be depressing when you’re been underpaid or when you find yourselves not living up to your full potential .

Yes, by some quick estimation, I have recouped my bachelor's degree tuition about x400. And the total expenses including living expenses about x110.

Good day N'Lander,

I was having a discussion with a friend yesterday, and he was complaining about how he was not being paid well despite his Masters, so I decided to bring this here.....

As for me, yes I've, graduate like 10years ago and luck have actually shined on me since then when it comes to job...

Even before then, I was lucky to get my bursary 50k each every year, for both my OND (100k) and my BS.c (200k) days for lagosians
By the special grace of God,,,, from my 1st salary.

Majors like?
medicine , nursing, IT, computer science, pharmacy, you can even learn some computer programs, computer information and so forth. Study the job market and see which job are always in demand. Just because a degree is useless in Nigeria does not mean it is useless oversea.

Something that I have surpassed during NYSC.

Cheap public Education is one thing that is worth celebrating in Nigeria.

Went to Private Primary school
Public Secondary School
Public State Polytechnic.

We thank God for where we are today.

Federal University graduates can recoup it in a year even with unskilled jobs, but state and private universities graduate can't do that easily

As an undergraduate, my two years of ND, two years of HND, and three years of BSc in terms of tuition was less than N75k. Cost of living however was high. I was fortunate I won an Oil&Gas scholarship during my BSc paying N75k per year for 3 years.

My first job out of school paid N30k monthly with lunch during training school and I only spent one month before moving to another Bank where I earn four times of that. As such, my first year of work should pay up all expenses it took me for my undergraduate education.

My graduate studies is a bit dicey. My first Masters and PhD were fully funded so, I do not think I need be paid back. My second masters however, costed me so much because I wanted to gain adequate knowledge to return back to industry. My current job is at least 1.25 times the entire cost as stated on my I20 so I would say, I have been able to pay back my cost of education technically. Although, in reality, since I got student loan for my second masters, I am still paying it in bits as necessary.
O ga ooo...

Just Imagine a society where people go to school, pay for school to make money in returns but not actually to acquire knowledge on how to improve the living condition of their society/add value to their society. you see, this is where corruption starts. from our educational system, you wonder why the country no dey develop coz our priority na to make money for our family alone and fence our house to the sky so as not to even say hello to our poor neighbors. Naija mentality na wah! even when they travel oversees to get experiences they never applied what the learned in their society. always waiting for Buhari to turn Nigeria into Dubai within 6 years. grin

Education is not qualified by financial gains .it is all that you are after what you learn in school have been forgetting.
So it is wrong to want recoup or seeing if you have recoup your school fees.

The job you are employed for you are paid for services not school fee recouping.
In nutshell your school fee is for self development.

You are absolutely right
