Had my first paid job at 16/17


Right after my NECO exams.

Left less than two months after when I had a family emergency.

After that, it was barely a month after writing my final undergrad exams.

Again, I left when I had to go do my final year clearance.

My work history is so funny.

Started at age 10 at a bakery..my daily pay was N20 that was 1993/1994..

Started at the age of 9 by frying Akara and selling it with bread in the morning before school and evening after school. Was paid 200 Naira per day.

Then went to do house girl from there till I finished secondary school. Was paid 5K per month.

Couldn't enter University early. Had to do different menial jobs to raise money for school. Menial jobs like watching people's clothes, sweeping compounds, doing house maids jobs then finally raised money and wrote jamb to enter school.

Being a full-time students was hard. Was working at a small shop to raise money to fend for myself in school and pay my school fees.

Then finally graduated.

Remembering those days makes me nostalgic.

Then one stupid idiot will now look at me and think that I haven't worked a day in my life becos of how sexy and attractive I look.

I'm glad that I don't look like what I've been through

Better days ahead.

As a kid, I had a good grip of Maths and Sciences. Was a versatile amateur teacher for years and I took that with me to the higher institution as an undergraduate. I don't currently teach full time professionally, but I love it whenever I have the opportunity to impact knowledge and also learn from my associates, peers or leaders...


PhD on my mind, will take on part time pro bono school teaching sometimes in the future..

Technically I only had my first official job at age 18. But in my head I was a class A psychological hustler from very, very young.

If I were to indicate my first job, it was working in my mum's facility for a few months during an ASUU strike. I was cutting deals at the side and was hitting school with N10,000 allowance for the semester + the one my parents gave me. To put this in context, N5 gave you a plate of food and one piece of meat at the time, with accommodation of N110 and school fees of N50. I was 18 years.

How I wish I started to buy stocks or set up a farm then.

Don't be too uptight sir. They are trying to create a balance, to make it more like a community where social issues and everyday challenges can also be discussed. It isn't a bad innovation. Dynamism keeps business afloat.

I started working to earn during my internship. I was 17 years old. That period was the first time money entered my hand and I literally didn’t know what to do with it. So my mum always told me to buy one or two when coming back and I saved the rest.

I started working at 17yrs immediately after my secondary, As a senior secondary teacher . I was teaching govt and geo in a private school in Benin, with salary of 9k in 2004.

I also worked on couple of construction sites to raise money.
At 16, i left home and stayed with a family friend and worked in the oven at Wahum on Adeniyi Jones.
I was working full time throughout my degrees and masters and can say, i have worked all my life.

I was doing menial jobs for people in the market after losing my father...

I started working when I was 15 years .

Working to get paid, immediately after secondary school aged 16 plus, but helping out with mum's business, carrying bags of cement, bags of rice, bags of garri, going to carry cartons of biscuits, 50 litre keg of kerosene, big sack of groundnut oil from seme and others were done from the age of 12, of course with wheel barrow which is our own family car and I am the only one using it, till today can't still drive a car.
