Good morning everyone,

I went to see my gynecologist and he prescribed clomid for me. He made the prescription after some complaints I made.

I told him I am scared of the drug because I have read many reviews about the drug. He assured me I will be fine.

Mothers, pls I'm still scared oo. I don't want anything to scatter my system. I had myomectomy 4 months ago.

So men do get yeast infection? He doesn't have it though..

I only said he should treat infection too to prevent reinfecting you (or prevent you from having another infection)
And yes, men can get yeast infection according to google. Please read it up

What exactly was his explanation for giving you Clomid? I had a myomectomy too in December last year

After six months, l went to see a doctor, he prescribed HSg to check and be sure the tubes are open. The result came out fine, during my ovulation period, he did transvaginal scan to track matured follicles, he found 2, so he prescribed the hcg trigger shot and asked us to baby dance after 36 hours. We also backed up with prayers, To the glory of God , l am in my 2nd trimester.

What am l saying?? Has he monitored your cycle or done other tests before he prescribed Clomid? He may wrong, he may be right.

So, he prescribed the drug for me to start at my CD2. ( to be taken for 5 days)

I'm just confused now.
Should I just go and do HSG first, to know the state of my tubes?

I understand how you feel my sister but first of all you need to calm down and take it easy on your self. The first Gynaecologist l was using before the fibroid operation gave me Clomid to take but upon my own investigation, l discovered that taking clomid when you have fibroid is like adding fuel to fire. It will increase the size and increase your bleeding.

So l dumped both the doctor and the Clomid , travelled and used another special doctor for the surgery. When l came back, due to distance l couldn't continue with the doctor that operated me but he is very good, so l had to look for doctor number 3.

And l am happy l achieved result with him.

Please hold on with that Clomid, it causes vaginal dryness too and can complicate issues. Look for another doctor , a specialist and narrate your case.

I hope he suggests tests to be done before rushing to Clomid. Goodluck and keep us posted.

Please I need help with a friend who is addicted to herbs and concoction in TTC.
I'm always so bewildered that in this age and time she prefers that route.
Maybe because her Mum prefers local herbs and it's been one local herb seller to the other.

She doesn't...
- Check her ovulation (OPK)
- Use a pregnancy app
- Follow her monthly cycle keenly
- ..want to go for HSG

I just think I need a willing and passionate sabi Mama in the house to talk to her for 5 minutes anonymously and in confidence on the phone and educate her PLEASE!!!

Instead of him to find out why you are not ovulating, he is just kin on pumping you with clomid. Pls change that doctor.

Check for infection, this is the first thing to rule out when dryness sets in.
Then a follow up test to ensure your tubes and everything is fine. A little as dietary changes may do the magic for you pls don't use Clomid again.

First of please console her and tell her all will be well that you'd both keep trying regardless.

Her case (strip) could be false positive .Try/repeat the urine after 3 days or a week. If positive again, give it some time and do a scan and/or quantitative B-HCG.

Repeat test in a week or two weeks time. The HCG is still building up. Please calm her down.

How do sabi Mamas come in contact with well grounded gynecologists??
The one I used (a local champion in Ikorodu) for the whole of last year, although old and experienced kept pumping me with Chlomid which I used for up to 7 cycles until my partner sought second opinion from another gynecologist.

Can I use the HCG trigger shot without the supervision of a doctor?

Comfort her, everything will be fine. Give her positive thoughts, if no period in a week, go for another blood test. I pray you both get a positive news
