Didn't u read a thread on NL about a single lady that gave birth to about 4-5 children for 3 different men? She must have started giving birth right from teenage. Early marriage has nothing to do with religion, it's more of culture.
Poverty made many parents to marry off their children at a very young age. Now even if u don't marry them off, they'll engage in relationships where they offer sex in exchange for money, gadgets etc and still bring shame to the family. Majority of the guys they got pregnant for are irresponsible and naive. The child ends up without a father which leads to neglect, moral decay, juvenile delinquencies, cultism etc.
What's abnormal is now normal in our generation. We don't frown at 16 yrs old girl having boyfriends or giving birth, only marriage at 16 that's our problem.

The rate of breakups today is higher than divorces. Many ladies were abandoned by the men they had children for while in a relationship. In fact, guys don't want any serious relationships or marriage these days because they want to easily japa as soon as they're tired of sex with her or they don't want to take responsibility. That's what led to baby mamas. Majority of guys are in relationship for sex, they don't care about responsibility that's y they don't want to legalize the relationship through marriage.
If my daughter have a responsible man ready to marry her at 16, I'll allow them to marry. Marriage doesn't stop her from schooling or pursuing her dreams in life. There are many young married women in the universities.
Marriage is not a life sentence, if it doesn't work she can divorce and look for a better life partner.
