The issue here is socio economic stratification. I.e. filtering away 'incapable' suitors through bride price. Else how do you explain how poor Igbos get married? Or perharps there aren't poor Igbos.

My wife is from Anambra. This was the list her village people gave to me. I felt insulted by the scanty list. To shock you, my father-in-law insisted I do much less.
