My mathematics and physics teachers back then, those guys were very strict that we started calling them dictators, you dare not talk when they are talking or disturb the class or else you will get purnished, none of us escaped those men lol

3 years back I saw my physics teacher and he was so elated to see me too, the guy man just hugged me, he was so overwhelmed and he couldn't contain his happiness, and he was really happy to see how accomplished I've become.

I took him to a ritzy restaurant in the highbrow area of lekki to enjoy himself, we had a tet a tet, we discussed alot of things throughout, afterwards i transferred money to his account and he was just calling me "sir" through out.

Imagine this same man that peppered us back then with non stop purnishment, especially me that was very stubborn back then.

The fact is that, that's the only time I saw that man so happy, back then he doesn't smile at all, very strict man and we don't settle. thank God we are friends now.

Flogged is a Means to Remind you to Focus on your Books, not frivolities!
That you should put in more efforts in your Academics!
It is Unfortunate dat we Africans or Pple in general needs Force/Violence to get their Work done!

In higher institutions, you are not Flogged for not Writing exams or failing Exam, But the Carryover, who will Suffer it?

Swears. I served in a school during my nysc. Education has gone so bad if you flog a student, they'll go home and report to their parents and the parent will come to school to fight all the teachers. Intro tech teachers are only trained in the act of beating students. That man is 90% intro tech teacher, they are cursed with beating of student as if their monthly salary depends on it

This brings back old memories. One of my former teacher died recently and they wanted us (former students) to contribute money for the family, I SAY LAIYE, not me, this was his MO of flogging people that did not do their assignment.

That means you are still a baby,without you they will still bury the man.grow up!

Funny enough I did very well in all the sciences biology, chemistry, maths and even further Maths.

Agric science and geography were another set of subjects I liked.... The teachers of these subjects made it very enjoyable and easy.

Even home economics was good because I learnt how to knot a thread and did some knitting

The teachers of those subjects I dislike hated me so I disliked them and their subjects in return.

Am a teacher!
And I can but just smile at all the comments,well-done guys.
There are two things that runs in the mind of a teacher.
1. Is the Salary he or she collects, that doesn't corroborate to the work done.
2. How can students behave like this, with how good I am and how good I have taught them.
Number 1 above is a very good point in Nigeria, go to schools where they pay teachers well you will see that flogging isn't the order of the day.


Number 2 can become epistle if I write much on it.

But lastly Sha, teachers are a vessel in our lives, I hate my Economics and Chemistry teacher then Sha lol, especially that chemistry teacher with how beautiful and pompous she was and the day she brought her fine daughter to school only to come and brag to us that she can't even speak to us.
Last last guy man still talked to the girl and I almost go Bleep that girl in her mama house sef...

That's why the Chinese are doing better now. Because they still flog.

I can now see why Africa is so backward.
And why Education is rubbish in Africa
European schools don't flog their students yet this European students have developed everything from healthcare to technology that you are using
From Cars, phone, architecture.ships, aeroplane, trains

Africans that where flogged like bush goat where has the education taken you
Upon all the flogging still African Schools can't boast of building producing Global impact or innovation.
You have African Engineers Yet you hire Chinese to build road for you.
Hire Chinese to build Infrastructure
Hire Chinese to build railway
So all the Engineering and flogging in school was a waste abi??
What is the point going to school if you still hire foreigners to do the job you studied in school

We all had that one subject/teacher in school that we didn’t like. We didn’t like the subject because of the teacher, we didn’t like that teacher because of how mean he is.

I’ll get started: mine is IntroTech, and really, this is how much canes my IntroTech teacher moved around with. The day you don’t do his assignment/home work, just stay at home and work for that day

You are wrong. Check the records of those Nigerians who did their university studies here or even secondary school before going to Europe or North America.

They outperform their European and American peers on the average.

Not being able to develop or invent things has no relationship with academic performance.

Your innovation capabilities goes as far as you can research but you and I know how much Nigeria invests on research institutes and research grants to universities.

If 2face and other legends were subjected to that Subject(Music) as a yardstick to getting into the field, they won't have made it anywhere close.
That Subject was irrelevant coupled with my music teacher always spoiling for a flogging spree each time we failed a test or assignment.
