Newboss: Largely based on paper and when you consider the term - Dead Capital (please Google it and attach PwC Nigeria), you would understand that it's not easily convertible to liquid cash. How many persons are paying such amount of money for lands in Plateau, Borno, Ebonyi etc? How much FDI has been invested in those states? What's the unemployment rate in those states? How many big employers (private sector) are in those states? Also, factor in naira devaluation and runaway inflation. These things affect the price of real estate within a locality. So, the land might be there but because of archaic land laws and poor economy, the land is a dead capital. 2 Likes |

DubaiLandLord1: I wonder how many are politicians? Big difference in one being rich and one being wealthy. Nigerians may be rich but they so ain't wealthy. Common investment in Nigeria tends be land speculations. Still baffles the minds how a simple plot of land in Nigeria manages to be more expensive that an acre of land in Hawaii. Mind you Hawaii has the most expensive real estate among all the 50 states for obvious reason. It's an island |

Jackson105:They should pay salary first and build their their roads that is an eyesore first before comparing it to any Eastern state.. small ebonyi state is currently building a gigantic airport plus many numerous roads and bridges both ongoing and completed. Btw, ogun state still remains the headquarter of arm robbery, ritual killings and organ harvesters in this country due to poverty in the land.. |

yorubakid: I don't think you are aware that Ogun state IGR is higher than all your 5 states put together, even small Osun is doing better than your big Anambra. Talking about roads, no region has as worst road as East in Nigeria |

The problem is in our orientation... With just 200k, you can become wealthy in Nigeria if you can stay in rural settlement breeding local goats. But everyone wants to be in the city. Why must our poultries stay put on those oyinbo chickens ? Why not local birds? With very little attention, they can increase in numbers in no time. We have no business been poor but... |

Jackson105:IGR that cannot reflect on the it's citizens They should use it and better the lives of ogun state indegenes and make life easier for them instead of torturing them.. crime rate in ogun state is very high, from bank robberies to organ harvesting to ritual killings to different rape cases all in one state alone..With the high IGR the governor still borrows money to pay ordinary salaries.. You mean the osun state in America or the one useless one in Nigeria where nothing is working.. the only news that comes out of the state is rape cases and ritual killings. The airport they started since ,they are yet to even finish up the fencing Abeg go and find some ewedu and gbegiri soup to eat.. |

yorubakid: like I told another NL user some days ago: IGR reflects in the lives of people working for the state government and it's agencies not the lives of people in the private sector, unemployed ( most states in Nigeria don't pay unemployment ) and sole proprietorships e.t.c In summary IGR will reflect in the lives of state government employees and infrastructure in the state, In Ogun state case, Ogun state doesn't spend on infrastructure so the infrastructure is one of the worst in Nigeria. |

yorubakid: Thrash and balderdash. You keep talking about crime rate, is your brain working at all? Baby factory, prostitution is not crime? Their is no brothel you will get to in any part of Nigeria that is not dominated by ibos, why, because of poverty, we saw few days ago your mothers in Abia protesting of unpaid pension, some people are even stealing cooking pot. The nonsense you are saying happen everywhere but it is worst in the east. IGR is a measure of state sustainability, you guys cry most about secession and yet your region is the worst. |
