In Catholic and Anglican, they have knights, and these where armies church used to support government for political strength and conquest

King Henry the 8th was the one who cut the ties and formed the Church of England because he wanted to divorce his wife Katherine of Aragon because she couldn't give him a male child.

He did that so he could marry Anne Boleyn who still did not give him a male child. The Catholic church at the time did not allow divorce and that's why he did that.
