If u remember this argument which u guys say I like started from u n Deedee saying "people never pay full duty", this will not be your reply.
I settle police and move on cos I don't want my time wasted...that doesn't mean every check I must drop, but this is naija. Like I said, I don't have business with customs as they are after people that don't pay their duty complete. It's not a matter of approach. Whether I drive old car or 04 Corolla or 2010 Camry is not the issue. What other dealers/car buyers do is not my concern. If u don't have custom papers or if u pay far less than u r supposed to pay for duty, then na people like u them they wait for for junction. When they stop me, I show them paper, n they let me go. They can't ask for shishi again wen I don pay my dues complete.
Who told u Customs don't border with small cars, Custom has seized 2 of my friends cars. Corolla 06 and Corolla 08. These are already registered vehicles o. One in Badagry the other in Lagos Ibadan express. At each occasion they had to part with huge sums to get their cars back. If they can seize registered cars, what makes u think they will not seize tokunbo.
Just do the right thing, don't say that's what everybody is doing and save yourself wahala cos wen e happen nobody will come to ur aid.
Why won't they seize your friend's car?
When I told you they teach people like you lessons did you agree?
Is your friend the only person driving Corolla?
But they choose to impound his own, next time people like you and him will get sense.
I talked about approach you will just be arguing aimlessly, don't keep arguing with them how you paid complete duty.
Let me tell you people even fly cars without custom papers, but it's people like you that always pay complete duty they impound their own.
Thank God you know this is naija, make I hear say u no dey pay custom od on the road.

The truth is that no matter how beautiful and newer your car is, riders doesn’t really care. All they want is get them to their destination safely and your AC is intact.

I once drove a 2016 elegant Corola sport, I only got 1 offline for a month using the car. But I do get steady offline with my 04 Corolla.

Have come to realize this that if possible bolt/Uber can reduce the year of cars, I’ll go for Corola, Toyota Echo, bmw year 2000 at least for cheaper maintenance.

Naija road no Dey even encourage anybody to get better cars.

Attached below are the best fuel economy vehicle of the year 2000-02

My 1st car in the hustle was echo 2002, it was given to me by a brother frnd just to work during weekends to hold body.

I too love that car, it has speed and the fuel efficiency is topnotch, i remember then, i will buy 3k fuel and earn more than 20k on the app with it, but, the only challenge i had with the car then was the AC, it doesn't cool at all when its sunny in the daytime...

Riders do complain of the smaller shape tho.

This is the fate of my car pilots, spent over 100k in the space of 2weeks trying to fix the car, like this, I'm beginning to loose energy on the car.

Currently, all i need now is Mobil oil, filter & censor after they couple the engine back, but, I'm out of cash.

Any assistance from anyone will be highly appreciated...

This doesn't make any sense, I have not seen any situation where custom will impound a vehicle with complete duty, not one. It's impossible.

This right here is the reason Nigeria will never succeed with people like u waiting the ranks to be leaders. Your mentality is distorted, look at you normalizing abnormality with ur full chest.

I addressed a fallacy in ur post and u turn around to insinuate the reason they seized the cars was because they didn't give 1k bribe. U really get sense o. So person wey no gree pay 1k to pass come gree to pay 200k to get his car back ?

If u r convinced that every single car imported into Nigeria didn't pay complete duty and u have to give customs 1k as u cross their check point irrespective...so be it.
Even as I like arguing, I don't engage in insular and unfruitful discussions.

As in,

If that's the case, then people will not be paying the full duty and have it in mind to give customs 1k at every checkpoint they encounter them.

I will pay full duty and still be paying 1k to customs after knowing i paid my duties in full.

Thanks Elder.
But what I want to know is how customs calculate it for an individual.
How do they arrive at a particular price for every car?

Just like this 500k for an 05 Corolla; how did they arrive at that price? Is the price fixed for every car?

I don't know about cars but custom dutytis collected base on the value of the item you are bringing and some items come with Vat + 5%

You are getting it wrong..... The custom on the road which are mainly FOU have an idea of what a proper duty should be, for example 05 Corolla and you are paying 200k they will hold the car down but if they see 500k or so they won't disturb and most time custom just collect the1k without checking for papers but If they check and they saw that your duty is low they will either impound and ask you to pay additional duty which is called DN or they will collect bribe...

To start with who's this person? A female or a male.

Inasmuch as i do not support any form of physical violence I wouldn't support any form of disrespect from whosoever.

I can't pass judgment without hearing from both the riders and the driver... But from the video I've watched here the driver took things too far for laying hands on the lady. No matter what he wasn't supposed to do that at all.

I've been in a more severe situation before, 2 or 3 girls if I can remember vividly and I remember sharing the experience here and izzou gave the best advice so should I find myself in such a situation like this again? I'll simply pick up every of my valuable belonging from the car then park in a populated place and then call passers by to come be the judge.

By so doing no one will tell them to leave peacefully.

But if you're a man and you think you can order me around like your house boy I will tell you we are both made with the same materials and with the same 22 veins if I ask you out of my car and you refuse just be ready to see yourself at the middle of 3MD.

Just imagine the manner you talk at the bolded... Pray never to enter my Mercedes benz and misbehave na wheel spinner and paper spray I go take show u something then carry you put inside boot straight to Area F.
The next time you order a ride and you see felicity001 is your driver you go cancel straight off your phone join.

Lol. If he's the type that orders Uber regularly, he won't be thrash talking as if he bought a car for anyone. Ignore that clown.

I won't berate any driver for physically assaulting and dragging these useless ill mannered c+nts from his car. They can push one to that length if one is not very careful.

It's same way I ordered one of these foolish girls out of my car just after covid lockdown. The girl came into my car with an attitude which I ignored, next was a song playing on car stereo. She was like "Oga increase the volume". I adjusted the volume upwards a little to what I feel was normal since my car is not a night club or something.

Next thing I saw was a b**ch from the back seat jumping up to raise the volume of my car stereo to the very highest. Oboi! I quickly switched off the radio completely and asked her to behave or she will leave this car now. This was happening at Kofo Aboyomi, few meters from where I picked her, going to Lekki. Na so the girl begin shout. Boy! I ended the trip and asked her to get the f*ck out.

She said her phone is down that she can't request another ride, meaning that I must take her to her destination. I got badly provoked. The place was quiet, only one dude in his car was watching, no phone, no crowd, perfect opportunity to slap this one and push her out. On a second thought, I decided to drive her to Bar Beech police station. I hadn't even gotten into their premises when police men came out and asked me what the problem is. I told them that I have a mad woman in my car that refused to go down.

The police men were already yelling "oya madam, come down, come down". That's how I left her with police and drove off. Still picked one or two riders because I was on my way home that day. It was just God and wisdom that saved that girl from a serious beating that day.
