A woman who passed away has reportedly come back to life at a mortuary in the University of Benin Teaching Hospital, Benin City, Edo state during anatomy students practical session.

According to an eyewitnesses at the scene, the woman’s body was deposited at the mortuary by her family and after they finalizing documentation, they left.

Anatomy students at the University of Benin were said to have gotten set to use the body for practical when she suddenly woke up and they fled.

But when they gained their composure, they returned to help the woman back on her feet and take her to a waiting car.

The viral video shows students and staff in the mortuary premises expressing shock at the incident as the woman walked out.

She never die before. Besides, anatomy is performed primarily on unclaimed bodies/ criminals corpses wey dey fr months/yrs, not fresh bodies. Many undead people have been embalmed in a hurry without proper death certification by a qualified medical personel.

That someone stops breathing visibly doesn't mean they are dead.

Naija hospitals are in a hurry to fill up their mortuaries. Sad.

Okay, the staff at Anatomy department said the lady was brought to the mortuary dead without a death certificate from a doctor. The mortuary attendant before embalment claimed that he felt a pulse and the relatives started rejoicing that the lady has "resurrected". They were later referred to UBTH for confirmation and she was certified dead at UBTH.

the issue has been trashed and everyone has moved on.

Life and Death is a mystery.

So many things are unexplainable.

Sometimes I wonder why we have to be born at all, only to die.

It is well.

I hope the individuals that certified her dead are appropriately investigated.

This will determine if it’s a case of negligence, and help to avoid future occurrences where people who are not dead but unconscious are put in situations where they actually then die.

The cadaver used for dissection is expected to have been embalmed. I understand it doesn’t have to be the case, depending on availability or unavailability of bodies…but examining the suitability of the body which should be done, makes the urgency observed with the desired use of her body as a cadaver for dissection, questionable.

…even so, regardless of what we may believe or what the situation might be, that woman, now or still alive, had the closest shave with death; the aftermath of death, the treatment of the dead, in Nigeria public hospitals would kill the strongest man, not to mention, the dissection which she was available for.

So, someone said, the woman was later certified dead and it was just the mortuary attendant that found a pulse when the woman was about to be embalmed. If this is true, I hope then, that the department provided emergency assistance to the lady, and it was after such emergency help that she inevitably died.

Many are the numbers that die in the mortuary.

She's still fresh....I mean her memory, let her explain how the other side looks like so that people like Righteousness2 will have something to feed his followers.

lies... anatomy section can only be carried out on unclaimed body or that of criminal. you cant carry out dissection's on a body deposited at the mortuary by relative

I am sorry to say this, but you know if she was a Muslim she would have been buried even without medical expert certification.
Sometimes it is not about taking someone to the mortuary but waiting a little while before sending them to the "journey of the great beyond".
I have seen a case where a woman who was believed to have died and was about to be buried, came back to life at the burial ground. She is a wife of an Islamic cleric an she is still living today.
