There was some drama in the department of Nutrition and dietetics in the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN) as a female lecturer disallowed some final year students into the exam hall because they didn’t reach 75% of attendance, Siggy reports.

The female lecturer was reported to have invited the armed security as the students in their dozens began to revolt against her decisions.

The video shared on social media has attracted numerous reactions with people dropping their various comments.

Well Nigerian institution have rules some lecturers use it some enlightened ones ignore it

My school was 80% attendance, I know a lecturer that even if u write the exam he won't mark the script cuz u didn't have the required attendance
And if your CA wasnt up to 12marks out of 30
Just know u are getting an automatic E that's if your total score exceeds E

Like I said only the stone aged lecturers use it

The enlightened ones don't do it..

If not for the rule of attendance na by force most of us would just focus on our jobs and attend only wen we deem the class necessary (test or exams)

Just imagine me sitting in a GNS or entrepreneurship class for 2hours cuz attendance is compulsory.
2hours that I would use do laborer job and earn like 4k

Schools have rules but you see this thing them dey call witchcraft ehnnn, na final year student you begin catch, temper justice with mercy atleast remove small marks from their score.

If this one beat you to coma now una go complain say em no get home training abi.

Somebody should volunteer to beat her inside the office.

Make everybody contribute 10k for that person.

Although say na the requirement but some lecturers dey over do.

She for just allow them write the exam and use their script to clean yansh



Since everyone for this country don Dey mad.


Most of us that had 100% attendance still useless for this country.


How I wished I had 10%. I for don go far in life.

Some lecturers take this attendance of a thing serious..na 75percent that time if you no meet up u no fit write exam. 2 thing wey I fear as a student na attendance and special electives.

The lecturer is right and should be supported by the school's management.

in the future, they'll join the chorus of Nigerian schools are useless.

Why will students write exam's that they didn't attend the lectures?..this is why we have a lot of educated illiterates in Nigeria.
This thing can't happen here in Ukraine. You must attend your lectures.

That's the right thing.....I don't know whether it's 70 or 75%, but some lecturers are strict with it.

During my school days, a Prof will mark the attendance himself, and a week before the exams, paste the names of those who made 75% attendance on the notice board.

He will copy same to the Department....He was 101% strict with it, 2 of our best students then were culprits and paid for it. The lecturer must have been singing it but they won't care.

The University will stand with him/her.

Automatic extra year.
