So this is a temporary arrangement for her to stay with her children, pursuing other actions going forward. The rent has been paid for three years in advance, and the kitchen is stocked with some foodstuffLagos state government, una try o but after the rent is expired, what next? The government will let us know when a proper and more formidable arrangement has been made for her but for now, what we have is because of the immediate needHmmmmm, Lagos state government, I hope you people will not abandon this family after your media display and cosmetic 'poverty alleviation' program? 30 Likes 2 Shares |

One million naira? In this Economy. Will one million naira bring back her daughter? What happened to the trigger happy cop? Has he been prosecuted? And, what if the rent expires? Someone that had her kid hawking, where would she see 200k plus to renew the rent after it expires? What type of burden blessing is this? 23 Likes |

Ishilove: The Lagos state government didn't cause the death of her daughter; that is on the Police (FG), The state is going over its mandate to put a human angle to this. The daughter isn't a bread winner, neither was the death of Jumoke the reason for there situation. Whether the program is cosmetic or not, the state has done its best to help out. The FG is responsible for this. 27 Likes |

This is highly commendable. Only an appreciative heart draws distinction from where he/she is coming from to the present place where he/she now found oneself vice-versa and thus show cause to deeply appreciate. We could argue all year long that "govt blabla was the major cause of the girl's death" and all narratives, let not forget that many have been wantonly killed by same Govt's order through the barrel of the gun or other unjustified methods 'yet not even a condolence from same govt's officials sent to grieving families. This has happened in many states and regions and still happening. When a particular person in leadership role has an humane face, demeanors and responsive mien which aren't common in this modern political era, then one should encourage such uncommon gesture irrespective of sentimental calculations a la party, religion, ethnic nor destructive criticism and regional jingoism. These are partly reasons "not sole reasons" why some elected leaders will simply not care nor show empathy when they are expected to because they will want to fore-guess what people will probably term their gestures 'political reasons' and whatnot, thereby failing to seize the opportunity to sway several tender hearts irrespective of any opposing public based opinion. Like some said...We deserve the leaders we get! Can the Governor do better? YES!!! I read where it's stated that it's temporary measure. For the quickfingers trigger-happy killers in uniforms, judicial trials and convictions shouldn't be spared on them. Such are not only responsible for the irreplaceable lives but also the cause of the depletion to the commonwealth that should have been used elsewhere but now serves as compensation to victims families. The FG needed to be accountable in all of its unpopular directives. It is a must to genuinely reorganize, reorientate and restructure the security architecture and apparatus. You can't send securities to civil and peaceful gatherings on strict orders with live ammunitions, they kill and terribly assault people, they're left untouched as if nothing happened thereby leaving states to clean up their mess. FG must start to be taken to account over all these, else extrajudicial and stray killings will persist. 7 Likes 1 Share |

"This was not planned but the government had to make quick arrangements in the interim. So this is a temporary arrangement for her to stay with her children, pursuing other actions going forward. The rent has been paid for three years in advance, and the kitchen is stocked with some foodstuff." Rented apartment? Oga oh! Sanwo-Olu, this is not making sense! No wonder the woman didn't even smile. I hope they keep the promise of coming up with something more "formidable". BTW, check out where this woman lives with her children. Why not stay in your village and farm instead of coming to Lagos to struggle? Southern governors are not doing enough to make people understand the huge potentials in agriculture. Foodstuff is costly these days and farmers are cashing out big time. 5 Likes

Yes... I was thinking the same too. They want to use the family to shine. Davido's N250m donation alone is better than anything this government has done for us badoo4real: 2 Likes 1 Share |

At least, let us be grateful for what the governor did. apologies to nobody, but how many of us readers can do a liitle of what was done, rather than saying after the rent expires, what next b4 we make some comments, let us weigh them to know if they actually make sense. They said this is for a short while, another 2bedroom may defintely be built for them after the rent comes to an end. let us learn to be grateful for small things, in order to get better favours. 4 Likes |
