My elder brother practically died for nothing. I'm not even sure he was paid for the 3 months.
After going from one barracks to another here in Lagos, with officers avoiding me like a plague, I was later told to travel to Maidugri for his belongings ( you can imagine )
One officer was saying that we should go to the senator from my state to help us get his benefits ( If any ) meaning NO STRUCTURE, NO CLEAR DIRECTION...

Fool yourself and listen to nairalanders, see if army is your destined job you will not die in the job, pray and hear what God has to say about it..when e reach army matter everybody go dey talk like mumu, yet they beg their army friends for urgent 2k, call to disturb with pls my mama car police catch am....

There is something bothering my mind and I seriously need advice from wiser people,by the grace of God I will be a graduate next year
(Electrical and Electronic Engineering) in one of the universities in north,but seriously for some times now have been having some deep taughts of how hard life might be after school, because honestly I don't have anybody, no connection nothing nothing.

So recently, a friend of mine whose dad is an army,came to our school then on sighting me he just started calling me GENERAL,at first I was not taking it serious coz I never for once taught of joining army,but the man was damn serious,just today I saw his text msg and in his texts he seriously want me to join on a short service style, he was even assuring me of how easy he was going to make it happen, like am
seriously confuse!!!!

please has anybody gone for the short service training before?

what are the requirements?

Best if your name sounds nothing north(ish)

Eg Joe Paul = sambisa straight 100% prob.
Ojo Samuel = sambisa straight 100% prob.

But with names like abculcodryy abculak, na office straight.

If you are convinced you have been called to serve don't hesitate to go through direct short service.

Upon completion you will be posted to the Nigerian Army Engineering Corp ( Army Engineers)

Alternatively if you have very high marks in your o'level and you CGPA is in the top percentile I will advice you go for NAF short service.

If you’re asking, the answer is no. The ones for whom it is meant never ask a soul. Army is for people with passion.

How would he know if army was his calling? How would i know if custom is my calling? You can give advice, but claiming if something is one's calling is what i find somewhat difficult to grasp

If you ain't a witch or a seer. You definitely won't know which profession is your calling. We are all running helter scatter to be responsible and be a better person

DSS does not carry gun and be hunting around, u will be employed according to your discipline, meaning u will work in office, and be having military rank,but in d case where condition warrant it to carry gun as camouflage will do that..........for example, if you study medicine in school, they will employ you as a medical doctor with military rank

I think there's something wrong with the information you provided here please. The Nigerian Army (NA) is a highly professional and reputable Army. The NA cares for it's personnel and ensures they get all benefits due to them. There are laid down procedures to claim the death benefits of a deceased personnel. I guess something went wrong in your on case, if what you are saying is anything to go by. But if it's true, you may contact me on 08110987414 for further clarifications.
