I think you have said it all. Does the applicant knows what it will cost him to apply with his family? It favours mostly fully sponsored students either by a school or a renowned organisation to come with their family. Please apply alone. Dependant visa sometimes can be what you can't predict. Note also that covid had impacted negatively on everything about Australia study route. But be positive.

There could be myriad reasons why your agent advised you to exclude them from your application. One of the most common reasons would be ties to your home country. If you are applying with your family, you need to provide a strong evidence of home ties, or else, chances of a visa refusal is high. If you apply alone then your family could stand as home ties. I Hope i am making sense?

I don't know what discussions you have had or documents you have provided to your agent, but that is something they might have taken into consideration prior to making a decision. If you believe you have strong home ties, then you could state them here and forum members might be able to advise further.

1. Look at the DHA website: https://immi.homeaffairs.gov.au/visas/getting-a-visa/visa-listing/student-500#HowTo
to guide you on the amount of funds needed.

2. If your sponsor has the sufficient funds, you may not need to add your bank statement. Just endeavour to put the necessary documents of your sponsor. However you can also add your own statement to boost your profile

3. You can go first then bring your family when you have settled. However, if you can exercise patience for the visa processing, and have the sufficient funds in you or the sponsors account, then there is no harm including them in the initial application

Vincentosa:
Good evening everyone. Congratulations to you all who have been granted study visas. May the good God also do for all of us who are yet to receive visa grants.
Please I will need your opinion on this. I applied to the University of Tasmania in July this year for the master of Information technology and systems, in less than 5days I was offered admission. However, I was a little busy with work and I didn't have time to respond to further documentation and plus the fact that the border was not seen to be opened previously.
I decided to accept my offer a few days ago. Note that my senior brother who leaves in Australia has offered to sponsor the entire program for me, and he forwarded a guarantee/sponsor letter and his bank statement of the sum of 167k+AUD. While filling the GTE form attached, I indicated I was a sponsored student. Then I was prompted to select the category of my sponsor from the list. I selected "others" since it is an individual sponsorship and not from the government and or some organization.

I uploaded the documents in accepting the offer. After a few minutes, I saw on my page that "Payment-Waived". Please see the attached document. I do not understand what they meant by "Payment-Waived". Please if you can kindly help to throw more light. Thank you.

I have a few questions.
1. Will I be required to also submit a personal bank statement?
2. If yes, how much is expected for me to have in the account?
3. I am married with a son. Although I am applying alone for now. The aim is to apply for them once I receive my visa grant. My wife is working with one of the Fed Govt agencies. I have also submitted her employment letter and pension statement as well as mine for evidence of employment.

@Mike365,
Thank you so much. I am grateful for the well explained answers. Yes my sponsor has the required fund. I had so far uploaded his bank statement of 3months and a letter of sponsorship. We will be adding more documents as they come. Will I need to add his birth certificate since we have the same surname and he's my eldest brother?

Yes. That identity document is needed. Birth certificate or national ID

Hello everyone,
Please how do I know if I passed the GTE requirement? UTAS sent me a link to provide answers to the GTE requirements. I did since on the 18th. I was sent a mail stating that they received my uploaded documents and give me feedback in few days.
Although, I was also asked to appoint an agent, I have done that. When I checked my portal it says agent appointment : "Assessing". Also, my offer is still showing conditional offer.
Thank you all.

I do not know if such License exists, na the same drivers license people are using.
I believe it can be used for a couple of months before a restriction can get to it.

NB1912:

Yes it is very possible and most schools accept. Just google Assessment level 1 schools in Australia and look through their requirements to make your choice.
The issue with going for a MSC degree that is different from your BSc is your ability to convince the CO (case officer) on why you are making the switch. You will need to have a very strong SOP if you were to be successful. Having a relevant work experience in the proposed field will be advantageous. Alternatively, if you want an easy way, then you could apply for a program similar to what you did in your BSC and then switch to IT after your first semester in Australia. Yes, it might cost you more money, but like i said, it's an easy way out. The choice is yours.

Hello NB1912, thanks for sharing a lot of sharing lots of valuable information to prospective AUS students.

further, i wish to know if you happen to know a trusted agent that can guide theorugh this process? I am a deeply interested in going for a Masters Program, but need lots of personal guide as I am a busy professional with little time to read through lots of pages.
Re: General Australian Student Visa Enquiries Part 3 by Vincentosa: 3:01pm On Nov 23, 2021
You need to create Tim for yourself and do detail research. Everyone here are very busy too. While some of us can assist with information, it's your primary responsibility to do research on schools ok!.

These seems like the entire university in Australia. So does this mean that these schools one do not need to provide bank statements and the level of scrutiny is less? Please elaborate. Thanks

You can drive with your naija drivers license as long as you want.
Restrictions come when you become a permanent resident.
With PR, you have got about 6 months to get Aussie License depending on the state you are.

I understand life can be busy sometimes and that's why there are agents for people like you. Unfortunately, i can't advise you which agent to go for. You can check google for reputable agents in Nigeria. Alternatively, you can check for pages in this thread where some have mentioned the agents they used and if they were professional or not.

Well, i believe virtually all the Universities in Aussie for Undergraduate studies are now using AGENTS, and most of the Agents contacts are in some of them school's website.
I was the last person from West Africa that was given admission without Agent back in 2015.(my payment cleared before they barred not using Agents)

We had Zoom conference on Saturday with UQ Rep which was organized by Mel Education Agency.
I think they reps many schools because i got their contact from UTS website.

Qatar still remains the best available option for now.

Can you share the rumors you heard?

Can't believe the borders are finally open again! I finished my undergraduate at Curtain University in Perth in film studies in 2017, I have been wanting to go back for my master's. I had used an agent for my previous student visa application as I am also very busy with work to have the time to sort my application myself I will most likely be using them again, would recommend if anyone is also looking

The education agent: https://www.educationone.net.au/

And their migration agent partner: https://onederland.com.au/

Just out of curiosity is anyone else planning on going to Perth, I really enjoyed my time at Curtain and the city really became a 2nd home for me. It would be nice to make some friends and have a community there.

Hello everyone,
I'm so thankful for all the information you guys put on here because I've been having a hard time processing for a BSc in Aus. I don't want to mess it up but there isn't a lot of nigerian specific info out there. I really need some advice so any wisdom you can offer is appreciated.

The situation:
I finished secondary school 4 years ago* but because of finances couldn't pursue higher education, even in Naij, so I did some volunteer work and got my first full time job in 2020. I resigned to start studying Health Science (online), but my Aunt (not a relative) recently decided to sponsor me to continue in Aus where she lives. I got offers from Uni's in SA but I know the GTE is the Koko and I don't want to mess it up.

The school asked me to write an SOP/GTE for them to review before granting me a COE, which I did last week. I recently received a request from them to rewrite it. I'm praying for guidance cuz the agent (asian) my Aunt got is in Aus with her and doesn't get the issues associated with being from naij.

I know us being unrelated may be an issue (*can someone explain why this is though?)

My questions:
1. What do you recommend for a strong SOP?
2. What supporting documents can boost my case?
3. What can I do about no evidence of my volunteer experience? Considering I wasn't paid for these experiences will evidence matter?
4. Will my statement of account be required?
5. As for my ties to naij; it's mostly family but my mom has a business I'm supposed to help with (services, not goods) how can I prove this?

I'm mostly doing this myself and don't want to lean on my own understanding. Thank you in advance!

That's what it looks like these days. Even if one is making headway they will still tell you to contact one of their agencies.

December 1st should come faster, so those who wants to travel can hop on that plane and leave ooO.

With this new flight bans from most Southern African countries due to their unEnding Cov!d 419 PlanDemic mutant claims, it won't be long before our cr@zy govt would say they see such virus here and we will be banned once more from travelling.
