So sorry to hear this. In my opinion, your bank balance might have contributed to the refusal , since you stated in your application that you have no other income or savings.

You may ensure sufficient bank balance (to cover your expenses plus additional reasonable sum) and attach your other investment certificates (if any) in your next application.

Good morning to you all, i received a refusal letter this morning. I'm not pleased with the decision. I want to reapply immediately i get back my passport.

Hello to you all and thanks for your contributions on this thread.
Please assist in accessing this situation for 2 applicants(siblings) for a visa.

Applicant 1 is a USA PR with a child, job and joint savings account (with the spouse) in the USA.
Applicant 1 will be applying for a UK visa from the U.S for a 10 days short trip. First time applying for a UK visa. Budget for the trip is 1,100 pounds. That is less than 2 weeks disposable income for applicant 1.

Applicant 2 is in Nigeria and a 22 years old final year student. Previously refused UK settlement visa to stay with MUM about 5-6 years ago.

Applicant 1 will be responsible for applicant 2’s flight ticket and feeding.
Applicant 2 intend staying within the Mum’s accommodation. Applicant 2 trip budget will be around 850 pounds for a 10 days trip to visit Mum.
A statement of account of applicant 1 in the U.S is likely to be provided as sponsor of applicant 2 if advised.

Applicant 2 have all relevant letters, results, receipt and ID card from school to prove continuous studies.
The studies are the only thing that show ties to Nigeria.

Application will be submitted at different country and time but total budget of the trip for both applicants is 1,950 pounds.
Joint savings account is okay.
That is still less than a month disposable income of the sponsor.

Please advise if this has a chance with the officer. A good cover letter will also be written to explain situations in detail.

Thanks for reading and will appreciate your prompt response. Stay blessed

Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 4 by nwaogukings03: 1:38pm On Nov 24, 2021
I'm kinda a novice in visa application. I want to visit UK to write a professional exam. So please i want to ask:
1. I should apply for Standard Visa for 6months right?
2. What's the total cost of standard visa now? Like all charges included.
3. What's the website address for the visa application? I can apply for it myself right?
5. What's the minimum number of months required in the account statement? Will 4 months do?
6. How long does it take to get a biometric appointment?
7. And how long does it take to get the uk visa after application?

if I may advise, now is not the best time to do standard. If you get the cash to spare, go for priority. I know of people that did priority and got theirs within 5 days. Standard nowadays is taking too long.

I don't think you must wait for any length of time before you can reapply except to shore up your finances. I for one, I reapplied within 2 months after my initial refusal and still got the visa. What happened to the rule that the travel expenses should not exceeding the x2 or x2.5 of your monthly disposable income? Poster hope you had enough in your account balance when you applied though. As for the 650k proposed trip amount, is it really realistic considering the cost of tickets lately?

Soft42k:
I don't think i need to wait for 6 months before reapplying. I'll reapply with same submitted documents, and reduces my budget to #650k or 700k.

Can a 6months standard UK visa be used to make double entry into UK?

Lets say a person gets a 6months standard UK visa for the purpose of sitting for a professional exam. The visa starts from 1st Jan 2022 to expire on 30th June 2022 . Then he travels to UK in Jan 2022, writes the exam and comes back to Nigeria.

Can he use the same UK visa to re-enter UK in June 2022 to write another exam which was not stated in the first visa application without re-applying for a second standard UK visa?

Thanks. Maybe the delay is due to traffic...dec hols and admission issues i guess.

the ECOs don't actually care about the real amount of cost of tickets or accommodation or anything you list as expenses, inasmuch as it doesn't contravene the rule they use to assess your application. So you could write an estimated budget of 500k, with flight of 300k and accommodation, transport etc taking up the remaining 200k, and still get the visa.
After getting the visa, its now left for you to spend as much as you can.

As long as you’ve been given multiple entry. Then you can.

the visa is for 6months duration. It grants you leave to enter and leave anytime within that period. The most important thing is that you leave before the expiration of the visa.
