Interesting. Please share more details let's learn. I only provided my license in the same 2019. The driver's guide has details of the exchange agreement, and I don't think there's anything like abstract in there.
a friend in one of the smaller towns in Alberta had to provide the frsc driving history extract.

This is my first winter - and it is truly depressing sad. 4:30 p.m and it is already dark! Na wah.

Dont worry, you will get a hang of it with time.

I had that weird experience early this year (winter 2021) when i came in. Everywhere looking so quiet unlike the buzzling noise and music from some quarters we are used to in Nigeria. Sometimes, i will just sit looking at the window staring at flying birds or squirrel jumping up and down. It can be that depressing when you are new so i can relate with guys having this initial shock.

The truth is you will get used to it with time without realising it. I would say what helped me was that i made friends regardless of race. I reached out to classmates at random and formed bond with a couple of them which helped relieved boredom.

I think it is even better now that schools are going back fully in-person so there is opportunity to mix and with time you will blend.

Shuo, you this guy again, what happen? undecided You don't have to go to Canada you know? Maybe you should consider Australia with a warmer climate or focus on USA with Texas in mind. All your posts on this thread has not been objective. You have just been complaining about something you haven't even experienced.

Hello, I am in Calgary, no need for drivers extract in Alberta, your original drivers license will do as it shows the date of your first license issue. I did drivers extract before coming and it was a waste of money and time.

Hello everyone.
I want to say thank you to all the contributors on this page even though sometimes it's as if it's derailed. I have enjoyed reading from part 1 to this part. I have gotten so much information from mechanic to hairdresser to when to change your tyres and where to get a lot of things . Been reading since last Yr and it's been worthwhile. I've actually been waiting for some wonderful landing gists but so far it's as if no one has travelled recently or all the people getting ppr recently on other forums are not on nairaland.
Ok house pls I need some clarifications on my questions.
Has anyone landed in a different province for like a day or 2 before proceeding to another province for their 14 days quarantine.
I intend landing in January by God's grace with 2 teenagers and 2 under 10. I know the teenagers need to quarantine for 14 days since they aren't vaccinated. Now my concern is that I want to land in BC for like a day or 2 just to see my investor and pick up some few documents but I would love to settle in calgary. Will it be OK to put calgary address as their quarantine address even if I stay 2 days in a hotel in bc before moving to calgary or will that amount to violating any law. I wouldn't mind them staying the 14days in vancouver honestly, but we would be using their quarantine period to sort accommodation in calgary and getting school for them.

My second question is if we are still required to get the FRSC extract for drivers license in calgary. Not sure if this is what they call it. I still have other questions though will ask them later. Thank you.

That's really nice to hear. Yes it's true the drivers license has date of first license issue on it. Thank you very much. Pls did you land recently?

You don't need to be there before you know the weather and how depressing it is. But never mind, I'll stop questioning yall since yall don't the ugly truth till you experience it.

I don't know when you will grow up. But after you do, you need to realize that many people experience life different from your perspective. The weather you find cold and unbearable, some Nigerians love it. I know those who look forward to winter every single time. That people are different should be something not so difficult to understand.

Another man's food is another man's poison. You can't force everyone of us to view life with your mirror. Perhaps 80% of those processing their visa to Canada know about the weather, ever thought of that? Even the landed migrants in the cold, have they decided to come home because of that? Are they weathering the storm? Not expecting an answer from you. To choose Canada, I am sure everyone has gone through the thoughts of the cold. There is no forum, Nairaland, Quora, Reddit, Canada visa etc that talks about Canada that doesn't make reference to the cold. So please grow up and stop acting like you're doing anyone a favour. You're not! You're only projecting your own fears on others and hoping someone buys into it. Warmer climates like Australia are made for human beings as well and I am not sure you requested for visa and they denied you. Go learn from those threads and leave a thread for migrants and potential migrants to Canada alone. This whining doesn't look good on you!

Canada is cold oh, but we are not sleeping outside. Most people also work indoors. Homes, cars, buses, offices, schools, malls, train stations are all heated. There is bus schedules to know when ur bus is coming (though they can delay some times) so it's not as if people can't function during winter. This cold issue was one of my fears before coming , but now I can boldly say it's not as bad as you think. I survived my first winter without a car and I was going to work everyday.

Also curious to know what the current situation is. But given the amount of money and the embezzlement going on in Nigeria, I doubt they'll remove that 51k requirement. It was there in the first place to be stolen, not to check if anyone had a virus.

Hello Luckymama,

I would be attending UBC (Vancouver campus). Although I have gotten a temporary accommodation (Airbnb), I wouldn’t mind a shared accommodation starting January 2022.

I have also tried sending you a message as well.

quote author=Luckymama post=107895894]Hi all
Is there by any chance anyone in UBCO (Kelowna) here or resuming in January? Looking for shared accomodation and have seen a couple of nice buildings close to campus. Would like to share with one two flatmates - females only please.[/quote]
