JungleJustice01:Save yourself the headache and climb the tree from where it is easiest. You will eventually go to Canada or the US with ease. Manage your N5m and go for practical Agri-Business Management course in Estonian University of Life Sciences, Tartu. You will study across 3 countries and you are 100% guaranteed to get work in top notch agri businesses/companies. Your family will be able to join you later. You can reach out to me for guidance, if you don’t mind. It’s piece of mind guaranteed. |

Gerrard59:Hello sir, can I please as you a few questions about this option ? My questions are; Are you allowed to go for a Ph.D without a masters in the US or anywhere? How feasible is that? Also I graduated last year(2020) with a computer science degree CGPA of 3.69 is this option for me ? I hope to go for an MSc or Ph.D in the field of Data Science/data analyst. |

Gertyman:Five million naira doesn't go anywhere as a postgraduate student in Canada let alone for a married man. Fine, he applies for a PhD program in Canada but the odds of being admitted is low compared to the US where there are way many universities. Also, the stats for student's visas' approval by the Canadian embassy is ridiculously low. This is a fact: https://qz.com/africa/1708714/canada-rejects-most-african-student-visa-applicants/ I'm yet to read or know anyone who had full funding from the university as a PhD student and was denied visa. Becoming a permanent citizen and eventual citizen in the US is easier for Nigerians than say Indians or Chinese. A bigger economy which translates to more opportunities especially in the agricultural industry. |

Gertyman:Interesting! So on which type of visa application would the family use to reunite with the primary applicant? |
| Re: Whats My Best Relocation Choice? by Gerrard59(m): 5:34pm On Nov 25, 2021 |
Nyanabo:Yes, you can apply for a direct PhD program into US universities depending on your profile: quality publications, work experience, a high grade (yours is quite low to be honest), stellar letter of recommendations, a SOP targeted at doing research or being a researcher after studies and a whole lot more. So, it's possible but entirely dependent on your profile. As for other places, it's hard to get a direct PhD as most require an MSc (research or taught) as a prerequisite. Though, the PhD program lasts for three years unlike the US of five or six years. To your second paragraph, it's possible but dependent on the factors I listed above. A girl who graduated from Uniben got into Princeton Computer Science department as a PhD student but worked in relevant organisations for about three years, had a first class, most likely stellar letter of recommendations and published few articles about her research theme. If you write the GRE and TOEFL, attain minimum of 330 & 100 (Speaking should be at least 25), do one or two publications on your proposed research theme (unlike MSc programs, PhD are research inclined), attend conferences and present one or two papers, write a very focused SOP and get stellar LORs, a direct PhD is possible. It just requires more efforts especially looking at your grade and years of working experience (this depends on the organisation you worked in and projects worked on. A one year experience at McKinsey is highly regarded than a one year experience at ABC Computers). |

If you are an Agric expert you can make good money in Nigeria though, you don't really need abroad. But if you must travel by all means, have you looked into the express entry for Canada? |

Soffyh:What do you mean by better life for your children? Even if you and your descendants stay abroad for 50 generations as citizens doing well, you are still African and you all would still likely not be seen as one originally belonging to their land or respected as such. |

odimbannamdi:The same type of visa of the primary applicant, the dependant can work a full-time. https://www.cic.gc.ca/english/helpcentre/answer.asp?qnum=1482&top=15 Spouse/partner work permits Accompanying spouses or common-law partners of full-time international students are eligible for an open work permit, which means they do not need a job offer or a Labour Market Impact Assessment from Service Canada. Your spouse or common-law partner may be eligible for a work permit if: you are a full-time student at an authorized post-secondary institution and you have a valid study permit. Full details of spousal work permit eligibility are available on the IRCC website. |

Attit:Many thanks sir, I know the potentials and I'm tapping them fully as a consultant and full time farmer. I'm primarily looking at getting a foreign masters degree and having an escape route in case this country goes down like moving my family out of here. I don't intend to stay long out there as I have a company running here. I'll look into UK opportunities as well. |

Attit:This is a great advice, however I am worried about the Herdsmen ruining people's farm. Wouldn't this be a big risk seeing what happens in Nigerian farms now. |

truthsayer009:Herds men attack grains field. Corn, millet, soy, etc. And they are like open field depending on rain. Vegetable farmers do not have challenges with herdsmen. Ita not attractive to them. Leading cattles to a vegetable is a waste of time, they wont eat vegetables. |
