My Husband's Nephew Update... by Lamanii22(f): 12:18am On Nov 27, 2021
Good morning everyone! So I made a post about my husband's nephew few weeks ago about the boy being light-fingered... I don't know how to add previous link to a new post pardon me....

Most people "nairaland boys" especially moved from the message of that post and started bashing me. Well, that was much expected since it's now a culture on here...

So we got a call from his school that a laptop went missing at one of the hostels, and all fingers were pointed at him, they said he was the last person who went there and Sha Sha Sha, they've seized his phone, we pulled a call through to his mom, she said she'd be at his school tomorrow (that is, today)..... There would be more info later...

This was what I was trying to avoid but my husband wasn't seeing all this at all, he is pissed now anyway.... His image at school have been tarnished... Even if he was innocent, the damage cannot be undone....

What do you mean the damage can't be undone? What happened to "innocent until proven guilty..."? undecided

If he is innocent, the family ought to stand behind him to prove it so and make sure no damage is done him for what he did not do. We should only have to pay for crimes we actually commit, not those we didn't abeg! undecided

The damage there would be "would people still look at him the same way before this incident".... Would he still be trusted? You know how "blacks" think... We are standing by him, ofcourse, we can't leave him at this time.....

You sound rather happy about the situation, as if you're fulfilled something like this has happened. It hints that you've not been trying to help; rather, you've been vilifying him before your husband who — correctly — chose to ignore your apparent dislike for the boy.

Imagine how wicked you sound cry His image at school have been tarnished... Even if he was innocent, the damage cannot be undone

I echo your sentiments too... it's Like I told you guys so kind of thread... He may have stolen the laptop, There are still chances that he is innocent...

But the op has found him guilty already... Considering what she wrote... Anyone that have lived in a boarding school will know that things gets missing .... sometimes, it was misplaced by the owners or it could be genuinely missing..

When that happens, accusing fingers will be pointed either to the right direction, or sometimes to the wrong direction... Don't be scared of his image.. if he's innocent, everything will be fine...

So if after investigation and found the boy actually stole the laptop, who would you blame?

This is the result of living a bad life. For everyone to point accusing fingers at him shows he already has a reputation for petty thievery, so even if he is innocent his reputation has already pre-convicted him.

Then he should answer for it. Until then, it's wicked to be happy his image is tarnished regardless of whether he did it or not. It's obvious the heartless woman don't want that boy in their home. If not y u go dey happy say the husband is now finally pissed and the boy's reputation is gone regardless of whether he committed the crime or not

Women are wicked that's y they wake up one morning to accuse someone of rape. With the joy that he hangs if he can't defend himself or tarnish his image (people will always suspect him) wicked creatures

How the hell is Op happy about it? Can you see her through her comment smiling and laughing?

how does this thread portray that women are wicked generally?

If your mum, sisters, female relatives are wicked evil beings, how is it anyone's fault their behavioural deficiency clouded your sense of reasoning and thought process, making you generalise baselessly? You men are destroying the world presently, yet women are your problem? Can't you guys do without showing your insecurities and low self esteem everywhere on this forum?

Men will always support men, even if they are wrong.

It's because in place of the natural intuition that women have, they have nothing.

Have you ever seen a place where bats are huddled?
They are blind, so they will huddle together to keep themselves in the same place so they won't get lost.

That's the way it is with men, in situations where women can stand alone and navigate with their intuition, men rely on huddling together and grope towards the truth.

Lamanii22, please say no more on this matter. Allow your husband to come to his own conclusions, before his family starts calling you a witch.

Just deal with the little inconveniences that you will experience as a result of the boy's presence in your lives.

Lock up all lockables, keep purses and bags out of sight etc etc.

Good luck.

They have insecurities, just like you pointed out.

They envy women's abilities and intuition.

Women are naturally intelligent, the conclusions we easily come to, they have to work so hard to arrive at it.

So you can imagine the suspicion.

Instead of allowing them to get under your skin, just pity them.

You definitely won't see how happy and fulfilled she is. Birds of a feather.

If u eventually get married, please poison your husband's nephew to death so u could enjoy your privacy and money alone.

Loool so the OP is now a witch because the husband's nephew is stealing grin grin

Na wa.

Is it not this same NL a man was complaining that his wife's relative was going to school and straight to church and he was not happy about her not doing chores and most were like send her out.

Most of them talking can't even tolerate a light fingered person.

Well most people here always see things in light of male VS female anyway.

You guys are emotional weak beings, never logical in thinking cos everything is always the fault of females, and I'll isolate this to mostly guys on this forum cos I'm sure y'all are not up to 1% out there,

The thread is about a light fingered nephew, but no, they must make it look like Op is the bad one, then they generalise it, i guess the husband seeing the clear picture although a little late must be a simp then.

I can't believe how irredeemably dense some Nairalanders are. The OP is complaining that her kleptomanic nephew has come under suspicion of theft at his boarding school, but to my ongoing chagrin some people have left the crime to attack the op and womenfolk in general.

Please, people, there is no pride in stupidity. You are not doing us, you are doing yourself and disgracing your parents who laboured hard to give you a half way decent education. We refuse to bear the brunt of your resistance to common sense and enlightenment.

There is a movie called 'Idiocracy' that sheds more light on what is happening on this thread. Idiocy is the order of the day in the society while the few sensible ones are hunted down and ostracized. Sense is slowly becoming a fossil.

Nairaland now is a place where people has turned matters to male and female battle, even when issues are meant to be treated in isolation, they still generalize to make themselves fell better. Let's face a case or complaint the way it is and not adding the angle of men are like that or women are like this.

So school has resumed already... shocked

I thought he just came from school barely 3weeks ago to spend the holidays at your place...
That holiday don finish just now ke?

If they seized his phone and assuming he is a boarder, wouldn't this seizure be because he is not supposed to have a phone with him?
It's been a very long time for me oo, but I don't remember schools allowing students to keep phones while in boarding house.

Anyway, you and this your nephew matter just get as e be... I taya for you.

The thread even comes off like an avenue for gloating.
They have not actually seen him with the stolen laptop, but you have concluded & decided that you were right and he is a thief. grin

Your next update will probably be how they have finally found the laptop under his bunk or inside his cupboard. Because agenda must to agend...

Wahala for who get aunty wey nor like am oo.. grin

@Lamanii22, you have to be very careful how you bring your family issues to nairaland, especially sensitive ones. And with your real account too.
It is for your own good dear.
You don’t want people twisting your words and casting their negative vibes on you.
Whatever family issues you need to discuss, discuss them with your spouse.

Oh please, don't be willfully patronizing to her... No one is twisting her words.

She is gloating, plain and simple... It's as obvious as the white on rice.

She's talking about being "worried" about the image of a boy in a boarding school that he will eventually graduate from and probably never see anyone from there again, a boy that hasn't even been proven guilty...

Like seriously, what image can anyone have in primary/secondary school that will follow them for life? cheesy
It's a non-issue as far as the trajectory of a person's life is concerned.

Such faux concern for his image is bullshít because he is but just a boy, not an adult. You don't write-off a child you love, and this is how I know for a fact that she doesn't like him.

Would she type in that manner if the boy were her own son, or perhaps she's one of those people who will scream "my son can never be involved in something like this".

Let's try to be reasonable, shall we?

A lot of you (if not all of you) stole little things here and there when you were kids, don't even deny it.... Yet it seems y'all still turned out okay.
