Chukwueze the most overrated naija player in nairaland

Some will argue he is the best thing since Arjen Robben

But isn't it curious that Moses Simon - a demonized player has way better stats and more impact to his team (Nantes) than Chukwueze?

Yet, some will praise chuks and demonize Moses Simon?

I am not understanding

grin cheesy
Tbf, the only person that has made mention of chuks and robben in the same sentence since the match yesterday has been you. The only thing others have said about him has been his reduced dribbling. Moses is berated for his performances in the gwg. Whenever he performs in his club he is praised

Ekong should be playing the role Omeruo currently plays while Omeruo should be kicked out entirely. We have too many incompetent players getting call ups, and most of them are in defense because it is easy to hide there as a squad player. Collins, Omeruo and Shehu really have no business with the team. At LB use Sanusi and Bassey, CB Awaziem, Akpoguma, Balogun and Ekong as backup, RB Aina and Ebuehi. Max 8 defenders total.

Collins is not that bad

For me, Omeruo and Awaziem are better than Ekong and Balogun as CB. Cape Verde had just one shot on target at their home when they both paired. Apokguma at CB is a recipe for disaster! Apokguma best position is RWB not even RB.

From whoscored, Fred was the second best player and Roy Keane does not want him on the team. Shocking. That guy works his socks off for that team.

Ekong is built for the passing game. Not suited for Ranieri's direct approach.

Well said,Omeruo major issue is club career. He made a mistake signing for Chelsea and till today his football career is nothing and Awaziem is having the same issue.

On a good day Omeruo and Awaziem are better than Ekong and check it out,Omeruo always comes into the party in any of our tourney....2018 WC,Omeruo had a better performance than Ekong and in Afcon 2019 he did well than Balogun.

Thankfully Ralf is coming

It seems far fetched but I believe his theory. The pressing game from Manchester United today was impressive and I believe the next team they will face should prepare for a tight pressing game. I am definitely watching it.

Sir,pls go and watch Olympic video again...Ekong lacked basic thing as a defender, his ball playing is abysmal and his sense of ball control as a defender is zero even in Olympics.

Super Eagles really helped Ekong Troost.

I did not see Ekong that way. I don't think he would have made the cut if he was that terrible. I actually enjoyed watching him then. I hope I catch one of the good games later again.

As an individual Ekong never had any outstanding attributes. No real pace, ariel ability, marking, passing....nothing he does is super but just maybe fair enough to get by. His partnership with Balogun sometimes makes him seem better than he actually is.

I like him as a person though, seems a genuine guy.

Ejuke plays street football. He needs massive improvement. Always dribbling without purpose!

Ejuke plays street football, but still the CSKA Moscow player with the highest rating by Whoscored for the current league season.

Which of the dribbles was without purpose in the match against Zenit?
Tell me.

There's a reason all the Fergie boys are having failed coaching career. Any coach that wants to be successful at the club should just ignore them and do his thing, because it seems they are all the one at the fire front of punditry in England.

Also the owners should get sense and start doing merit based hiring in terms of coaching roles and football related appointment in the club . Enough of all this Fergie recommended bullshits. The last time Woodward hired people without Fergie s input, they won trophies. The last appointment that Fergie had a hand in because of Nepotism, they were both failures.

Let the owners run the club like they actually own it and not run it like it's a family business of Fergie and his gang of class of 92 disciples.

The owners run other successful sports team outside england. Let them run Man utd like that too and ignore Fergie and his gang of Molecular biologist and hire competent administrators and coaches money can buy, the way they do for their NFL team

Since news came out of Iheanacho and co sneaking girls into camp, I've found myself thoroughly disgusted by the lot

It reeks of indiscipline and disrespect, to bring women to a camp, when others are adhering to the rules. Do they think themselves the only ones that konji affects? What is 5-14 days in camp that they cannot tie their trousers and stick to the business that brought them there?

Even the way dem dey take style relegate Kelechi for Leicester, does not annoy me the way it used to. The only thing I think of, is whether he displays that level of indiscipline over there too, and that's why the coach no dey rate am.

I'm just thoroughly disgusted.
Are we 100% sure the story is true?

I disagree with that idea. Is there any pass in that clip that is not real? A clip of a player is the best source to know how good a player can be when he is at his best.

Whoscored is no one's opinion but a compilation of Stats. Roy Keane got it very wrong with Fred. He was the engine room that held that team for Solksjaer. You think it is a coincidence that the dropping of Fred coincided with the flogging by Watford?

Of course you are in the know that consistency is what differentiates the good from the dross and the great from the good.

For example anyone who has watched Ekong for more than a minute will be more than aware that he neither has the vision, ability or belief to consistently hit the cross field diagonal passes shown in those clips.

Anyone can compile a montage of any given player to make them look better than they actually are.

Consistency comes with different factors. One is style of play. What can not change is the ability of a player. That is what the clip shows. What a player can do at his best

I ask again, is it not Ekong given those passes in that clip? If he doesn't have the ability, a clip can not make him have it.

For instance, if players are not in advanced positions, he can't make the passes.
