According to the governor this is to boost productivity and improve work life balance.

Like him or loathe him, there is never a "dull moment" under him

KADUNA UPDATE:

KDSG begins transition to four-day working week from 1st December 2021

1. The Kaduna State Government will commence a transition to a four-day working week in the state. In the interim, it will permit public servants to work from home for one day per week. This measure is designed to help boost productivity, improve work-life balance and enable workers to have more time for their families, for rest and for agriculture. The measure also reflects lessons learnt from managing the Covid-19 pandemic which required significant relaxations of old working traditions and the ascendance of virtual and remote working arrangements.

2. A statement from Sir Kashim Ibrahim House stated that the Kaduna State Government will begin implementation of the transitional arrangements in the public service of the state from 1st December 2021. From that date, working hours for public servants hours are adjusted to 8am-5pm, Monday to Friday.

3. However, all public servants, other than those in schools and healthcare facilities, will work from home on Fridays. This interim working arrangement will subsist until the government is ready to move to the next stage of the transition which will culminate in the four-day week across all MDAs in the state.

4. Senior officials are working on detailed guidelines to ensure that the emergency services and the education and health systems in the state continue to deliver services 24 hours a day, seven days a week during the transition and beyond. The government will also ramp up its efforts to give public servants access to digital devices and platforms to enable them work effectively from home. Given the significant investments the state government is making in ICT, it will ensure that most of its automated services deliver the levels of performance required to give citizens seamless access.

5. The state government expects the required legal and regulatory framework to be in place by January 2022. This will also enable the organised private sector to engage with the process and agree a longer transition period to a four-day working week.

Oga is looking for means to streamline his workforce. How do you expect them to do all you mentioned in one day?

Nigerians are tired of being Nigerians.

There some laws I see This governors make that give me the notion that they know every states is on its own. Some states prohibit alcohol, some states have sharia, some states are going to work for 4 days in a week. Are we still in one country?

gawu1:

You have forgotten to include that some states require non indigenous to wear tags, some have banned cattle, some have invariably declared Monday sit at home. Some say fg have no right collecting tax from their domain any more.
That's why those who argue that restructuring is not the problem have upper hands. If we can practice even less than a quarter of our constitution, we can see our federalism at work
I agree.

So after insulting Igbos for going on holidays every Monday, claiming we are destroying our economy, they are now going the same path?

If hypocrisy is a country, he would definitely be called Nigeria!!

Everything should not be about the Igbos.

By the way, Work from home is different from sit at home.

Nigerian govt workers working from home?
With which technology, abeg?

When many of them don't even have andriod phones? For many others, “smart technology” ends in Whatsapp

Does the government have computers and constant electricity? Internet subscription nko?

Working from home when our documents are still stacked in paper files

They were not even efficient and effective when it was 5-working days, how much less now.
