For your information it was voted by Football journalists, national team captains, coaches and other professionals. The award went through the process it has been going through since Cr7 has been winning it.
Do you know more than those professionals? Have you ever paid for a ticket to watch Match? Do you know what it means to analyse match , not your NTA analysis.

The only people against Messi are Real Madrid and Man United fans. They so much wanted Cr7 but as they noticed that he wouldn't go a long away , they have to rally around Lewandowski so that Messi wouldn't get a chance to surpass Cr7. Despite of that , Messi still won it. Thank God the voting was not done by mere football fans like us who merely watch t.v. at home and move by emotion when it comes to our clubs and likeness for our favourite player. Messi may not be popular, but his achievements can't be ignored by professionals.
Messi is the mosy complete player ever . If he's not scoring , he will definitely be creating chances , not like his competitors who would rather wait for the tap for their usual tapping spirit grin. On sunday alone he gave four assists but one was disallowed


And OP what do you mean by "unprecedented"? You guys are funny . Where you expecting that jungle book to win it? How did he even get to the list in the first place? What are his individual contributions to Chelsea ?

Anybody weh say messi no deserve is a strongly sentimental illogical person.
I give respect to lewan but on the basics of facts doctrin Messi still deserve. The sentiments is that they want someone else to break the circle.

Lewan.scored.53 goals and won the league. I think in all competitions.

Messi I think Got 38 total. 30 in league 5 in champions league and three in copa I think. That' 12 short of what lewan has and still won the copa del Rey and Nationals.

His goal difference from lewan was just 12. Think about it. Plus national honors. People has been deminishing him for not winning national. But his first they want to just sweep it under the carpet like it's nothing.

Abeg leave Messi still deserve am. Lewan try but we're him national I.d.

The problem with Messi I think is his high standards..many times they have to lower the bar so other can compete. His standards has been so high that if he perform above average..it seem average at best or below average.

The truth is that if I was to be the one in charge of giving out this award, it'll be hard for me not to hand it to Messi over and over again. I too like gentle and selfless guys like Messi.

Messi on the other hand applauded Lewi nd equally pleaded wit the organisers to award Lewi the 2020 balon d'or that was canceled due to covid. Why are you Ronaldo fans like this? What did Ronaldo do in 2013 to win Balon d'Or. You guys never complained then when the likes of Ribery and Robben who won the treble with Bayern that year were denied. That made Ronaldo the only Balon d'Or winner in this century that didn't win a single trophy. He scored 66 goals in all competitions that year without a trophy which was nothing new as Messi scored an unprecedented 91 goals in 2010 and even won La Liga yet people made so much noise about how iniesta or Sneider were robbed.
