adveert002: You didn't do anything wrong, it's the antispam bot that banned you but don't worry, the Mod already unbanned you earlier that's why you can now post. adveert002: Sorry to hear about your visa refusal. The spousal sponsorship application takes approximately 12 months as I've read and heard. It's possible to take lesser (6 months) but on average it's about a year and can run up to 2 years depending on the case. I'll recommend you apply again for a visit visa while also putting in a spousal sponsorship application. (Nothing to lose) But I honestly don't understand why their refusal is based on family ties in Canada considering that this is your husband you're looking to reunite with and they clearly have the spousal sponsorship stream to cater more for this, so why should they worry about a tie to the same spouse in Canada? Canada sef. Please others can chime in. On the same note, we also got a refusal letter for my spouse's (husband) application today. I'll post the details in my next comment. |

adveert002: Sorry about the refusal. I guess you will need to repackage and reapply. What did you chose as your expected arrival time for the visitor visa? |

I think because my travel date is next year they’re not ready for me yet. Congratulations to all those who got approved and congratulations ahead to those who didn’t get approved now because upon next application you’ll be approved by Gods grace. Re-strategize, address all the concerns of the VO or ECO in a strong LOE and with extra extra documentation and reapply. 1 Like |

OloriOfMontreal: It was refused on 2 grounds First because of my family ties in Canada they are not sure I would return as planned considering my family ties in my resident country (I guess they mean we don’t have kids and I need to return to) Second ground is based on my travel history (I don’t have a travel history ) I will like to ask do you think I should use a travel agent if I choose to apply for visitors visa again? |

OloriOfMontreal: Please what is GCMS and what will you be using it for in this case, asking because I got a refusal too and looking to apply again |
Re: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by Debbieeeeeee: 8:21pm On Dec 03, 2021 |
adveert002:Global case management system. You have to apply via third party or anyone you know who resides in Canada. The officer will state the exact reason for refusal in the note as opposed to the generic reason given in the refusal letter sent to you . If you have the exact refusal then you know what is the exact problem and can tackle it from there. |

Hey, Really sorry about your refusal. Are you currently working in Nigeria? If yes, try and get a letter from your office clearly stating that you are traveling to visit your husband and you plan to return back to work. Also, do you guys have any properties that are in your name? If yes, include them in your next application (if you choose to reapply). These will serve as ties to Nigeria. I also believe you can apply for spousal visa as well as reapply because the spousal visa takes a much longer time to process. Hope this helps adveert002: |

From my observation, most of the visa application that was approved this week is for mothers of Temporal or Permanent residents. That of spouses was mostly refused. |

Hi, Sorry about the refusal. Did you guys include a letter from his employer stating he would be returning to work? Also, include land properties (if you have) or other assets in your next application. These usually help with home ties. We were really worried about proving home ties for my dad's application as he is retired and this was first time applying to Canada, but I included several of his properties and he got 10years visa. You really can't do much regarding the travel history apart from explaining like you did. All the best in your next application. OloriOfMontreal: |

I believe there was a lady in the spousal forum who mentioned she got PPR for her visit visa. But it's really trIcky trying to prove you will not just decide to stay with your spouse in Canada rather than go back home. However, employment and assets are usually strong home ties ikemummy: |

OloriOfMontreal:Sorry about your refusal. About the finances, instead of being specific and talking about who will be responsible for living expenses and all, why not use more general statements like during the duration of his visit, your husband will be staying with you at your address and he’ll be responsible for his own financial support…something like that. It’s just a suggestion. I wish you all the best with your next application. |
Re: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by OloriOfMontreal: 9:22pm On Dec 03, 2021 |
adveert002: Honestly l don't think there's so much one can do in terms of proving travel history. Like someone said if you have assets to support family ties back home that can help. I personally do not encourage the use of an agent. Using an agent doesn't guarantee visa approval. I believe you can reapply again by yourself. Try to put together a strong LOE addressing the VO's concerns or stating why the conditions clearly hasn't changed. And you can request your husband to order your GCMS file, which will show the Visa Officer's detailed comment on your case file. It takes about 30 days to process. All the best and keep the faith alive! 1 Like

purplerain: Thank you so much for the guidance, purplerain. Yes we did. We submitted letter of employment and letter from his office stating the duration of his vacation. We intend to resubmit both letters again when reapplying. Thanks again, and glad your dad's application worked out. |

hereandnow65: Thanks for the suggestion. We appreciate it. We could definitely come up with something in that line. We really tried as much as possible for them not to raise any issue regarding his financial status in Nigeria. So let's hope our new LOE and repackaging will help. Thank you! |

ikemummy: My observation is that, Canada priorities the processing of application of applicants that is reuniting with Family members more than normal visitor visa application. They are doing that because of people who haven’t been able to reunite with their family member since the Covid issue. |

Canadian embassy takes travel history very serious, they only overlooked it when the applicant is very old.... What I have seen |

Re: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by oluayebenz: 3:55pm On Dec 04, 2021 |
Infiosa: Yes without travelling history chances is very low but not impossible. To convince those pple at the Canadian embassy is tough. Just apply and hope for the best |

Debbieeeeeee: Debbie, I guess your 30 working days will be Monday, patiently waiting for your update on Monday to know if they are using the 30 working days interval for normal Visit Visa for applicants NOT reuniting with Family member in Canada. |
