Quite pathetic.
This paltry 50 &100 naira bribe has caused so many avoidable deaths & brutality by our police. & it is something that can easily be stopped. Just takes a few police ogas to dress in mufti inside bus or Keke thru checkpoints. Then set example with any officer caught collecting bribe.
Unfortunately it won't happen because the bribe taking involves ogas on top who receive their shares from the checkpoints.

I drove from imo state to asaba and didn't encounter any police checkpoint nor did I encounter armed robbers on the road as the police are insisting that there will be an increase in road robberies if they are not on the road,now they are not on the road and the robberies had disappeared mysteriously can you then guess who the robbers are?I fully support the UGM on chasing police away from our road,what a blatant nonsense,imagine shooting civilians because of #100 naira,we don't want police check point again in the southeast,army check point is organized and not to abuse and maltreat civilians and motorists,but police checkpoint must not come back to the southeast ever again

That was how a boy in Benz was shot in Asaba by koka junction yesterday and the police who where in a Hilux and a Sienna took his Benz Nd zoomed off, leaving him in the pool of his blood, his brother was able to escape from the back sit, and called their parents who reported the case to police headquarters, which warranted the dpo to come to fmc Asaba where he is been treated and was begging them to keep the situation private.

Some are going for walk of shame with their governor who will later zoom off with his security and retreat back to his fortress. Police will still use them for target practice tomorrow. They never learn.

Now let's go to the national issue here;
It has often been said that tomorrow's victims are today's survivors, with that been said, many of the upcoming/future victims we're against the endsars and stop police brutality protest.

Some of them that fought online against the endsars movement are here on Nairaland too...

Remember that when you support your child's bad behavior against your neighbors, that child will grow to give you your own share of the evil you help created.

There's is no sitting on the fence on this one, there must be total overhaul of the police system, erring officers must face capital punishment for their crimes, regular audit of officers assets, regular drug and alcohol test on officers etc.

A smart man would save his wife first, get every info about the shooter and his team next, take his time to hatch a plan and without mercy totally ruin their lives.
