lakesidepapa: If you're box to box, your primary role is to maintain balance in both attack and defence. You add bodies forward by joining the attack, you add bodies defensively by maintaining position. As long as your primary role is to win back possession, you're a DM. |

The greatest mistake rohr can make is to ignore Anthony nwakaeme. He is in imperious form. As per the idea the Turkish league is low I don't buy into it. If he ends up playing well for us it doesn't matter. Also, the Turkish league is low in what sense. It's low but not too low. The guy can even save Rohrs job if he is used. He can get us vital goals and assists. You see players born in Africa do not have a good platform to advertise themselves to European football and so they may not hit the limelight on time but that doesn't take away their quality 1 Like |

Report: Super Eagles' new football coach to be named next week News Hub Creator The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) will announce the new head coach for the Super Eagles next week, but they have not settled for a foreigner or Nigerian. The NFF have been on the lookout for a new manager to succeed embattled Gernot Rohr, who is set to depart this month by mutual consent following the team's struggles in the 2022 World Cup Qualification first phase. There have been countless questions asked since the news of Rohr broke, but the biggest is, of course, who will succeed him? It's a big job to take on. The NFF needs a candidate who can bring an attractive playing style to the table and continue to bring young players through. It will also be looking to trust that person not only to lead the team into the AFCON, but also the 2022 World Cup. Despite the lack of clarity over the complicated situation, the person will most likely be a foreign coach. NFF favour employing a foreign coach amid reports suggesting that over 30 gaffers are vying for the hot seat. However, some top eggs insisted that all possibilities remain open: The NFF will settle on the new manager after the pay off of Rohr has been settled. They are evaluating the CVs of more than 30 managers who said they were interested in taking the job. Some Executive members would personally prefer to hire a Nigerian coach, because the team's latest achievement in history were made by Stephen Keshi. The new manager's task will be injecting fresh blood into a team branded slow by many to prepare them for the 2022 Africa Cup of Nations and World Cup qualifiers playoffs. Roger Lemerre and Hector Cuper, the coaches of Etoile Sportive du Sahel and DR Congo respectively, have also been touted as possible candidates to take charge of the three-time African champions. In 2020, Cuper was reportedly linked with the Super Eagles role. |
