Osimhen Set To Make History With Ultra-modern Protective Mask
News Hub Creator
SSC Napoli of Italy striker, Victor Osimhen is bound to make history later this month as the first player to wear an ultra-modern protective face mask in an Italian Serie A match.

This is sequel to updated information out of The Land of The Azzurri, where the medical crew at Napoli have given Osimhen clearance to resume training with his team next week.

This means a reversal of an earlier verdict that the Super Eagles' youngster would be out for three months, thereby ruling him out of next year's Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon.

However, Eagles' coach, Gernot Rohr has already included Osimhen as a standby player in his provisional list for the upcoming AFCON, which starts on January 9, and the Franco-German tactician will surely be excited with the news out of Naples.

This means Osimhen could also become the first Nigerian player to wear a protective face mask at the contintenal soccer showpiece, once he gets to launch it in Serie A action.

Hope is rising high in that direction, as top shots at Napoli are now looking at the possibility of the in-form lad playing in their last match of the year, wearing the new protective mask that will be made of 3D components.

The mask, which has been recommend by Napoli's medical chief, Rafaelle Canonica, after 18 surgical screws inserted into Osimhen's cheekbone were removed on Thursday, is also expected to be custom-made.

The hyper-realistic 3D printed face mask, which is also reportedly eight times as effective as an N95 version, using software and Formlab component, will come with a headband and clear plastic sheet in front.

A report by Italian newspaper, Gazzetta dello Sport added: "The carbon mask to be supported on the player's forehead, so as not to press on the eyebrow.

"A mask that will be made with a 3D printer, on the cast of the centre forward's face."

Going by your submission with this experience stuff, which ex player should we recall to come give their experience to this team?

Guy Rohr left experience when he joined super eagles and used an Iheanacho and Iwobi to beat Zambia. If you dont try them they dont get this 'experience' you're shouting about.

Ujah like other SE strikers wasn't really tried with the SE because there was an Obagoal, the Uche brothers were scoring for fun, so was Yak and Joseph Akpala. He was never a flop, he didnt get game time cos most of the strike force were on form.

If they are good enough, call them, try and test them so they gather this experience. Football has moved from your experience to technicality and expertise (how to read game, change formation, strategy). This is the reason I don't buy this experience talk.

If Nigeria can introduce more than 15 rookies and won the AFCON then you should know she can still do it again with a sound coach.

If Dennis and Awo are in the form of their life, it's up to them to decline the invitation not because there are players who are experienced (Simon) and can't even perform when called upon. Experience no be everything my brother.
let's allow our coaches do their job,in Nigeria everybody is a Coach grin angry grin The coach knows when to introduce new players. Do you want to know what inexperience can do to a team? Watch Barcelona

Some interesting things I noticed today.

Mourinho is lost. Like how can he allow Inzaghi beat him like he stole meat from the pot of his neighbor. It was a dreadful show today from Mourinho. The gulf in class was too much.

Time for Atletico Madrid to sack Simeone. He has run out of ideas. He can only defend when once he meets an opponent that can string few passes across his defence line. It was embarrassing watching Luis Garcia tear his team apart repeatedly.
.
Jack Grealish is a Super Star. He played the false 9 role to perfection. Like he was out of this World. I had told people repeatedly that Guardiola should try him there but I did not expect him to perform this well. Fantastic.

Iheanacho needs to get today's tape of Grealish and study it like a Pre clinical student studying Keith Moore anatomy. That role will suit him. It require holding the game.

Bernado Silva, brilliant and genius.

Watching Inter Milan, Mallorca and Man City play today, you will see the brilliance of fluid possessive game. Mastering it gives an edge to the team that uses it well.

If the NFF is serious about replacing Rhor, their priority is to get a master of teaching the possessive game but we will play it in an attacking variant.

I dont remember telling you when to invite players. My grudge is the talk of experience (quantity) ahead of form (quality). If Keshi can achieve with players who're of less quality to this present team then this team has zero excuse.

Rookies and newbies beat finalist (CIV) of the previous AFCON deservedly well. So leave this thing you're saying, if you have quality you'd win games and tournaments not with experience. Even if the quality is local, try them out and do away with quantity. When Germany retired Muller and Boateng for newbies who died?

Why you no say make I watch Spanish, Denmark, English NT Even recently na small boys from Spain beat Italy. Carpenters from CAR beat us

The fastest way to get injured is to play like u don't want to be injured. What happened was a freak accident. It had nothing to do with his playing style. U would expect ur tall striker to try to win an header.

The teams you are called are not doing well because they are inexperienced. Experienced team in Europe are ruling Europe today they are Portugal, France and Italy. The 2013 squad that won AFCON the on inexperienced players in the the were Omeruo and Onazi, others have been playing professionally for years

Flash in the pan.
Flatter to deceive
Experience is the best teacher
The devil you know is better than the angel you don't know
You don't change a winning team
Club form doesn't translate to national team form. Most times introduction of new players is a gradual process. You don't overhaul a department of a team few months to a major tournament because some rookies are scoring goals. There was a time Ujah was scoring week in week out in the Bundesliga but he flopped in GWG, same way Onuachu is flopping in GWG. Stop judging players by the league they play. These players outperformed our best in these positions in international football: Ali Maloul better than Celestine Babayaro,Weal Gomaa was better than Uche Okechukwu and Taribo, Rainford Kalaba,Ahmed Hassan and Aboutrika did better than JJ Okocha and Kanu,El hadry was better than Enyeama,Hossam Hassan was better than Rashidi Yekini,Moteab and Amr Zaki was better than Obafemi and Ik Uche, the list goes on. These players were based in Africa while our European based guys were banging in goals in Europe but could not replicate back home. Football is beyond what you see with your eyes. Awoniyi and Denis's time will come may this AFCON or post AFCON

What experience did Pele have at 17 years before he led Brazil to win the World Cup?

Why experience did Mbappe have before he led France to win the World Cup?

Pele carried that 1958 team. Read your history he led them to that trophy vs Sweden.

Same with Mbappe at the last WC. Mbappe was a fulcrum to that squad.

Form over experience anytime anyday. Integrate them and let them blend in
