Here's a video of the Chairman board of governors, Dowen College, Dr Olumide Phillips, advising graduating students of Dowen College to come back to Nigeria after studying and learning abroad.

At the 2021 Dowen College Lagos valedictory and founders Day ceremony on Wednesday 6th October 2021, Phillips told the students to always remember that no matter where they found themselves, Nigeria was home.

He actually gave a good speech and offered them fatherly advice. It's unfortunate that the actions of some bad students are dragging the man's hard works on the school though the mud.

Seriously... I'm affected by this news, it has always been my dream to set up a school one day, but I'm currently scared and a bit skeptical following the current news. See how some bunch of over fed miscreants have succeeded in ruining this man's genuine hustle.

Two things are involved infact 3 things if I'm not mistaking for normalcy to be restored;
1. Invite the culprits and their parents to wake the dead child from the dead
2. Allowing the full wrath of the law to take its course by charging the culprits, their parents and the school accordingly as within the Constitution.
3. Allowing the family of the deceased to practice Moses concept of "an eye for an eye", this will balance the whole equation especially with full government support.

Anything far from the above is just like pouring water into a basket and hoping it gets full.

I think I said something when titok girl from Edo beat black and white, now the same thing has happened to the child of elite everybody is taking... Why must we wait for this long? No yeyebrity in Nigeria will say anything because,those guys are their boys... I pity for this country, when cultist, yahoo boys, and girls , arm robbers took over the street for ENDSARS we celebrate them....

Don't make that mistake. School is one of the most bastardized business in Nigeria.

I know people who own schools in SE and the fact is most schools from the mid to low range, returns don't match your potential risks and the work input or "stress" in school business.

You are handling lives, ignorant children, managing people as inventory, a recipe that can blow up in your face if fate takes a wrong turn.

The pros is that demand is steady, everyone goes to school especially secondary school, but profit margin stays low due to numerous input factors , high competition in the sector and entitled parents who owe as if it's their right. They spare no luxury to get a car but will hold on when it comes to school fees.

If your target market is the affluent society, your major problem is the already established competition with probably deeper pockets and reputation.

All I see here is negligence on the part of the management.

When you see a child going astray it’s not hard to detect but I guess they allowed their love for money becloud their sense of reasoning.

The school is even a Christian School with sound knowledge of good doctrine.

Those children should be arrested and face law alone along with the careless staff in charge of the hostel.
