There is even a bio-tech company that's working on a cure. Their research looks promising and they have gone past the first stage of human trials if I am not mistaken. The company is called American Gene Technologies.
As for current treatment options they keep getting better. This year saw the approval of an injection that you take every two months (6 times a year) eliminating the need for daily pills.

That post exposure drug should be in every first aid kit. There's one sold over the counter, can't recall the name
