Why all this bragging from igbos?
we have seen nigerians been best graduating students in different universities abroad ,so what is special about this

They will brag because it is a big achievement to them.
Unfortunately however, ask for the educational profile of those bragging and you will discover they are either people who have not left their enclave for once or those will nothing to point to in terms of personal educational achievement.
Lamentable indeed.

Meet OAU Overall Best Graduating Student for 2021 Convocation Year - Ohanekwu Favour with 4.88 CGPA

Ohanekwu Favour Ebuka, was the cynosure of all eyes yesterday, at the Amphi-theatre hall of the Obafemi Awolowo University Ile-Ife, as he won many prices, and eventually took home the awards, for the Overall Best Graduating Student in his Department - Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Best Graduating Student in the Faculty of Technology and Overall Best Graduating Student in the entire Graduating set for this year.

The Proud father of Favour, and a Pastor of a Church in Ibadan - Bishop Emmanuel Ohanekwu shared this good news on his Social Media account for friends and families to rejoice with him on this proud feat achieved by his Son.

Congratulations favour, it's not easy to lead a set at OAU, academically. The future indeed looks bright with this, and we can't but wish you all the best.

Favour was born in Ibadan and practically lived all his youthful years in South West. He speaks Yoruba with Omoluabi proverbial tongues more than Igbo language.

However, that's not even the issue here but a lesson to all the sadist and haters of Yorubas in the South East. It's joblessness that leads to depression and from there breeds hatred and wanton destruction of lives leading to rape, killing and what's presently happening in the South East.

I just left a club right now in Lekki and so lovely to see Olamide and Phyno pallying like brother's from the same Womb discussing progress.

Really, Poverty is a bastard and a curse to human race. Joblessness and lack of any creative ideas breeds contempt and unwarranted hatred and sadness towards another tribe and even your fellow brothers and family.

Igbo Amaka, we love you and have accepted you long time ago as brothers and sisters but please Nkwenu, You must stop the hatred towards another tribe.

Lastly, Favour achieved a great feet by association. He was born and bred in an educational and sound filled environment without nepotism or rancour of your tribal status. He triumphed right from Ibadan and all the South West States he passed through. He was dedicated and determined to make a standard for himself in the midst of sound minds also.

Lesson: Nepotism kills Determination, Dreams And Lastly the Genius in Human.

Hahaha.... incidentally, don't be surprised if he was born, raised and educated in the SW.

I had a few lecturers then who are from the SE and finished from Ife and they're very good. In fact, one is a female and holds the record for being first Igbo female Professor in that whole industry. Though she would have retired from the academia now but I remember she had a first-class from Ife too.

OAU ,UNILAG and UI have a lot of our brothers and sisters from SE. I am not sure if SE universities have such diversity in their studentship and academia. You are right that most Yoruba don't usually go out of SW to study, this is because the top universities are in the SW. In fact if you are Yoruba and study outside SW, it immediately suggests that you are probably weak academically.

Ohanekwu is definitely Imo State and with the Ebuka attached then it's most likely Orlu area. Congrats to the dude from the most educated State in Nigeria where a wrong leader was imposed on the people using military might to shut their voices and kill them or burn down their villages unprovoked.

Can you highlight the tribalism in my post you mentioned. Jubilating with a kinsman in Igbo is now tribalism. Go away. All these Lagos IGBOS self. Denying your Igboness will not make them to accept you. So be proud. Be Igbo. And for your information it is people like you who live in Lagos that they taunt daily. They no dey see my back at all.

Na lie oo. I resigned my federal government job, left Lagos and went back to Eastbwhere I came from because Yoruba thought my presence took away the job meant for their grandmother's at home. If Igjo tell the story of what they go through in Yoruba land you will shudder. Bar their irreconcilable religious difference the North is home outside Igbo land for the Igbo while the East is home for the Northerners.

cooltola:
no one is hating on Igbos, it is only on nairaland, I do not get the notion that people thinks that Yoruba hate Igbos, come to Lagos and see how we get along, life is not competition, we celebrate success. Congratulations to the young man, an achievement is worthy to be celebrating.

No BB9ja prize winner was given 90m
Cash.
Even of they were, then that's what the show promoters thought the winner should get. A university education is not in competition with BBN.

My point ?

They are only so many (few) BBN winners with even a fewer set doing well over the years. We can't all become BBN acts.

But education still remains the MOST GUARANTEED platform for ushering the majority out of poverty.
Many Engineers would be gainfully employed THIS YEAR alone than all potential BBN winners for ever.

Anyone (undergraduate) who still doesn't understand my point in statistical significance should drop out an keep applying for BBN.
Perharps he'll cash out 90m one day.

You completely misunderstood the point made there.
Regardless of what you wrote there, many naive young minds will be wondering and comparing the obvious gains of both endeavors.
This is definitely not a sure way to promote education as a ticket to better life in a poor illiterate society

I can see you are a pained afonja miscreant, you all are always afraid to compete with igbos that's why you have been working very hard with your Fulani uncles to keep them down since 1960 but it hasn't worked, now they are speedily taking over your responsibilities in your neighborhood while you all are busy kidnapping yourselves for ritual.
