Same with mine oo, they were all surprised and one said imagine paying that much for this cold country . One needs to let them know that migrants are not their problem when it comes to accessing benefits.

No recourse to public funds and we pay through our nose to get ILR, then no send us work sha.

Now imagine a Family of 5 on the 10yr route,

PSW doesn't count go and read about it on UK Govt website. It just a gateway just like study visa after two years if you don't get tier 2 visa or startup visa you will go home.

Reason why some students are shocked about the cost of psw. It is stated there.

This is an information that is widely known.

In addition, student visa counts towards 10 year route as well. In fact a friend got ILR based on combination of several tier 4 visas and PSW. This used to be the norm before a form of restriction was put on student visa.

I know someone who got his British citizenship via the ten year route. PSW was two years out of those ten years.
You are definitely mixing it up with the 5 year route

I plan to spend 14 days in Turkey then proceed to UK from there.

Can I book a multicity / circle trip from Lagos to Istanbul to London and then back to Lagos? Does this qualify as a round trip?

I am asking this because the Turkey visa specifies that I must have a round trip/return ticket for me to be allowed entry into the country.

10 years just means "have stayed in the UK legally for 10 consecutive years then you qualify. The key word is legally and consecutively ..... so student visa is a legal stay so is any dependant visa, spouse visa , PSW and the working visas. All that can be combined to make up the 10 years . ...... so even young people who do A level and read up to PHD level and then PSW can make up their 10 years that way .

Visiting visa is what doesn't count as that not a stay visa but a visit visa and also entering UK through a boat illegally or any other illegal way of entering and staying . Those are illegal way not legal so won't count .

If you start off as a legal visa ie student visa or dependent and then fall out of status or become illegal or fall out of status after PSW then you disqualify as a person needs to be legal all through that 10 years ...it has to be consecutively been in a legal status

They are basically saying you must have a ticket for a flight out of their country, they don't really care where to..
