You will stay isolate and pay for the £2000+ you don't live in Cameron and the visa was not issued there

Please how does visting visa count...I am curious

It does. 100 percent certain. It has always counted as far back as 2006.

I'm too lazy to Google and share examples but you can check the post below:

Accommodation cost: High, difficult to get to unavailable, just like many places in the UK now.
Cost of living - Factor out accommodation, no different from any major UK city.
Weather - Wet.
Any important things: Glaswegians are generally friendly people and foul-mouthed.

This. However if you’re willing to commute even 30 minutes there are plenty affordable towns around Glasgow you can get accommodation in and should be slightly cheaper generally than living in the Centre.

it is not about the visa.. it is about the red list country! This is what is been done over and over again. Something i saw with my two eyes.. pakistan was on the red list, they travelled from Pakistan to USA and stayed there for 2 weeks, then USA to UK with same Pakistan issued visit visa whilst Pakistan still stayed on the red list. You will be allowed in. Same way if you go to Turkey/Ghana or any non red list nation for 10 days, you can skip the compulsory quarantine.
Abeg no dey argue this one.

That is why you have a passenger locator form… this is what is used at the border.. not where you obtained visa from… it only asks where you have been in the last 10 days.. as long as it is not a red list country, it will tell u only about day 2 pcr and pre departure pcr..

You are talking about something different here, if you got nobody to live with in USA how much will it cost you to live in a hotel in USA for two weeks compare £2000+ for 10days.
Come to think about it, you also need to apply for US visa to be able to travel there to isolate for 2wks.

You people are not playing with this new part at all and now made me catch up after several days of reading through more than 40 pages. I will not dissappear and miss hot gist again oo.

Welcome back @Aphrodite007, we missed ya and glad you are doing great.

Thanks for your message on celebrating Little wins, saw it at a good time and we really do get overwhelmed amongst everything else.

I also thought @dustydee was a woman oo , maybe it's Shim sha

Missed the argument from our Mr Alaba intl importer exporter of drugs, some very funny responses that made my day.

Always a pleasure reading through @Ticha post omo, semi-retire at 50. We don bookmark the post and hopefully save enough to venture into it.

I want to add Engineering to the list of lucrative courses people can focus on asides IT and medics. It is a really lucrative industry, with loads of opportunities, although the salary return may not be as high as some IT roles. Lets also encourage our kids, nieces, nephew etc to study Engineering related courses, I am forever grateful to the person that pushed me to Quantity surveying.

There are lots of Engineeringcompanies offering apprenticeship roles with starting salary of 22k with benefit (for 2/3days at work) and still pay their Tuition. Basically, they are not saddled with student loans and still have good savings once done. I have seen 2 black kids in my coy blow up this opportunity on youthful exuberance.

Oga beryour i dey watch you oo, seems you wan port away from Engineering with all this tech analysis and abandon me, issokay oo

Reading through all the posts and seeing iboboyswag situation get resolved pages later was quite motivating and should be a lesson to people creating groups outside NL on whatsapp, seun really did strike gold, make he just increase some of its functionality.

Glad it all worked out @iboboyswag I can imagine the dilemma you and the family went through, the fear of UKVI ehn.

@akorkor having issues with that email and glad you asked your question on here and got better suggestions and help that I may not have been able to offer privately.

For your Global Talent, how are you able to convince CEOs of you former companies to write a letter of endorsement for you?

Why did they reject your last application?

I was friends with their friends and them so it wasn't too hard. but i still didnt get it-- they know what they are looking for, for the visa.

How long are you going to stay in Dubai before heading to the UK?
Re: Living In The Uk-life Of An Immigrant (part 2) by AKALAMAGBO: 7:14pm On Dec 12, 2021
Well, I have been in Dubai since 8th of this month and my flight ✈️ to Birmingham is 21st, which numerically means I have stayed in a Green List country for more than 10 days and that’s what I will be filling inside the passengers locator form…

When I was booking my flight at emirates airline office here, their agent only asked how many days would it have amounted to between the days I got here and the day I plan to travel, the answer was 13 days and his response was; you are good to go, but you have to ensure your Covid-19 test is negative in the last 24 hours and you must remember to fill a passenger locators form…

Well let’s see how this play out.

That is it, isolation in the UK is 10days but you have done 13days and with negative PCR you are good to go.

Your case is different

So invariably it means that someone can stay in a green list country for more than 10 days and be allowed to enter.

Yes that is the whole idea of 10days isolation rule, just do PCR test 48/24hrs before boarding and complete the locator form

I’m on a resident visa though, to avoid any ambiguity, I will advice you put a call through to UKVI number and ask if visitors visa holders are allowed to travel from a Green list countries after spending more than 10 days…

Please make findings with them

10 days.
Justwise you are sounding more concerned about the feasibility (cost and visa availability) rather than the actual possibility.
Personally I always have multiple valid visas in my passport.
I would rather add some money to that 2k pounds and take a short holiday in Turkey, Dubai or visit family in the USA or Canada or elsewere rather than dash the hime office and be stuck in a room in a holiday inn eating crap thrice daily.

If this is the case of holiday then i wouldn't encourage my enemy to come to the UK now as there are loads of countries to visit.

Not everyone has that opportunity of your choices. I guess justwise was concerned about the majority and not the minority.

That is besides the point.

The question is whether it is possible or not, and not if people can afford it or not.
Also 2.3k pounds can get a student an affordable transit holiday/adventure in a greenlist destination including Dubai. Even Ghana sef dey greenlist, Kenya is there and a host of other affordable countries.

The holiday is a forced one if you get me. I'm just saying better to visit a new country, see and experience something new with that 2.3k pounds than pay to the home office to quarantine in UK

Only issue is if the country you decide to visit gets redlisted while you are ther grin tongue

Re: Living In The Uk-life Of An Immigrant (part 2) by AKALAMAGBO: 10:39pm On Dec 12, 2021
It is possible.

This self-enforced 2.3K by the UK government was what actually brought the idea of people staying in green list countries for certain days to avoid that money coupled with the quality of service being rendered by the facilities in the UK.

I already booked a ticket in Nigeria with wakanow around November 20th before this Omicron of a thing and the banning of Nigeria by the UK, I called wakanow for a reroute from Dubai to UK and they told me they can’t reroute it. I had no choice but to ask for a refund.

I requested a refund and those slowpoke said the value of my refund is 153,000 naira from a whopping 288,000 naira grin

It’s been over 4 days now, I still haven’t gotten the said 153K grin grin

Even if you tried to travel through green list country it will not work because your visa was issued in Nigeria
This information is wrong, the onus is where the traveller has been for the last 10 days. If you was in a green zone the last 10/11 days B4 you enter the Uk, you are good.
