she needs to go and proof her allegation against the boy.
She needs to prove nothing!
The constitution protects Nigerians from being asked to prove anything, that is the job of the police.

Wasn't SARS also arresting people to prove their innocence which is illegal?

When was the law passed that a person has to prove whatever they say?
If you think you have a case, you sue in court and not use the police to
intimidate someone who says what you don't like.

It is funny you were on another thread opposing similar police intimidation tactics.

Why has falana not sue DJ Witch and his son Falze for claiming 77 people died at Lekki

A lot of people are mad in this country
there was 99 bodies deposited for gunshots... Falana raised that issue but Lagos has no answer...let kemi defend her case or...she roast behind bars.. Oloriburuku..asinwin...oloshi

Don't mix Lekki shooting and other shooting in October 2020

Lekki case shooting Dj Witch said she counted 77 bodies in toll gate....

While al ots of people died outside lekki.

During the crisis last year, even in my area in Lagos so many people died...

Arsonists/bugglers VS police /Army

So don't mix the number of people deposited in Mutuary with Lekki shooting!!!

In any case Falana always sue govt out side Nigeria...he can also sue them on Lekki issues outside Nigeria.

Even her talk can be said to hinder proper investigation.... So forget Falana matter.... You do not know the pain or spewing ill tinx about the dead when the person isn't there to defend him/herself.
Insensitive, stupid or foolishness is not a crime!
If you believe they should be crime, petition your lawmaker about it but first think deep about
the future consequence for yourself.

Just a little over a year ago, some people shut down various part of the country
supposedly over police harassment and illegal actions.

One of their patrons is publicly encouraging illegal police harassment against a non-criminal
purportedly over hurt feelings. We have warped value systems as nobody seems to care about
principles, only gains.

Maybe you should revisit the Nigerian constitution you're referencing.

Freedom of speech does not give the freedom to defame someone. To make such outlandish and defamatory claim against someone, she has to have solid proof.

1. It's right there in my post that if the kabukabu lawyer's contention is defamation, he should head to the court of law instead of using the police to silence her.

2. Obviously, the nuisance lawyer is more familiar with defamation, and its legal implications, so please tell us, is the police station where you go to file and prosecute your defamation case or in a court of law.

Until the issue is settled and adjudicated in a competent court of law, it's 100% freedom of speech.

Please, read and comprehend the Nigerian constitution before your next post.

Very simple, she should come and explain how she came to such weighty conclusions that the late boy was a cultist and that he consented to drinking "engine oil". How did she know that the injested liquid was engine oil? Unless she has some insider information (because she definitely wasn't in the hostel when it happened), which will serve as a good contribution to the investigation. They shouldn't overlook her allegations, since she wants to be mad, they should start from her...

As an investigative journalist, she's under ZERO obligation to reveal her sources, besides, Falana and the Police are not paying her to do their job for them.

Funny enough if it was the other way around with favorable news and your own friendly journalist, you won’t stop bombarding us with noise about intimidation of journalists and attack on democracy, even Falana himself won’t hesitate to run to Channels TV to wail endlessly that this is intimidation and harassment of journalists, democracy is under threat and there's no freedom of the press.

You can’t call what she said “an opinion”.

An opinion is view or judgement formed about something, not necessarily based on fact or knowledge.

Her statement could only have been said by someone privy to some facts or knowledge of what transpired at Dowen College. By now the Police should have invited her to help in the ongoing investigation by volunteering what she knew about the case.

You are all hypocrites..

Your arguments are baseless and lacks merit. A judge can mandate her to provide her source of information since she's commenting on a murder case under investigation. Also where your own right ends, is where another person's own begins. You cannot enjoy full immunity hinged on freedom of speech when you are suggesting to authorities that you know something about an ongoing investigation on a murder case. Even the police intimidation you're mentioning is totally unrelated to the subject matter, she's not being arrested but will only be providing useful information. Where she refuses, then a court will mandate her to speak and if she lies under oath, she's liable for obstruction of justice.

In fact, the only tool and form of adjudication available to any judge is contempt against her, which many journalists are always willing to accept and eat up instead of revealing their sources.

So, you are in favor of a journalist being forced to reveal sources to help your own case, also based on your own favorable sentiments while at the same exposing, endangering and jeopardizing the life of the sources so let's say we start exposing sources and risking their lives, do you really think sources are going to be available to offer information to journalist to help you prove your own case or to save your life in case you are legally challenged in criminal proceedings or before any court of law?
