Was it emergency appointment (EA) that you applied for in Lagos? And when was this? I also applied for EA in Lagos since last week with no response yet..
We’re you once denied a visa before?

It looks like the embassy has a lot of emergency appointment request to deal with at the moment. I have also requested for Emergency interview since the early hours of Sunday but I haven’t gotten any response from them.
I know I am not it this alone but I have to resume school mid January 2022
Lagos or Abuja? And we’re you once denied a visa before?

My emergency appointment request is also spending in Lagos since 6th December. I'm not sure of any advice at this point.

I think Lagos is a little slow. Most people getting EA approval are for Abuja.

Not in the last 6 months.
The date you were shown in Abuja was it a specific day or you had multiples dates to choose from?

Please I’ve been aired many times on this forum and I really hope no one airs me this time. please I want to correct some things on my DS160 form and I know for sure that the form can’t be changed once it has been submitted, so is it possible if I fill another DS 160 form and update my profile?
Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 16 by Olaniyi55: 9:49pm On Dec 17, 2021
Yes, you can retrieve your information. Just go enter your old confirmation code. Then you click new application, you be able to see your past information and you can also make corrections before submitting, which will be later lead to a new confirmation code. The new confirmation code is needed to be entered into your Visa portal (just go to update profile, enter the new ds160 and save. That's all

Hello bro. Please i'd like to get in touch with you. Need some info on how you did your Covid PCR test before you travelled. Thanks.

No, it was never updated. It later changed from "Refused" to "Administrative processing" when they called that they were ready to Issue Visa

I have been an anonymous reader right here on nairaland since 2020. It would be a big crime if i got my visa approved and didn’t post it here because I virtually learnt everything I need to know right here.

First attempt
VISA APPROVED: Abuja 9:15, 17th December 2021.

Course of study: MSC industrial technology ,California state university fresno.
School cost: 28k
Graduate assistantship: Nil
VO: bald white guy

I was asked only 4 questions (suprised because i got like 20 questions on my transcript)
Me: Good morning
VO: nothing
Me: Good morning
Vo: pass me your I20 and passport ( I was like damn, how will one who refused to reply me approve this visa God)
VO: Why are you going to USA

Me: I’m going for my graduate studies in industrial technology at csu fresno

VO: Where do you work

Me: jubaili agrotec, they sell and produce quality agricultural products such as pesticides herbicides ( I just said and the rest because everything i have prepared for disappeared at that moment)

VO: Who is going to be paying your deficits?
Me: my dad, he is a saturation technician with chevron nigeria limited

VO: chevron Nigeria limited?

Me: Yes( I was expecting him to ask for proof of funds, but he refused and i learnt here that you don’t force documents on them)

VO: have you been outside the country recently ( can’t remember the exact words)
Me : NO

VO: you’d picking up your passport in three days time.
Me: Happy holidays and you look Good
He finally smiled at me after declining our culture of Good morning.

I congratulate myself and everyone who got their visas approved today and to those that got denied, i hope you are not giving up because thats not even an option…YOU GOT THIS.

Pray and cry out to your lord God because thats the only way , and try as much as possible to dress well( i mean what you are comfortable with and can afford) appearance will make you sell anything to them. I tried and got myself the most expensive shirt i could get since that’s what they will be seeing.

Trust me you can’t be as shy as i am, i dont look straight into people’s eyes when talking…I’d rather be looking away to avoid eye contact, Dressing well gave me the confidence i needed to reply the vo even though my voice was a bit shaky.
Thank y’all for taking your time to read this ❤️Love And light

i was refused visa in Abuja on wednesday, 8th December, 2021. When can i reapply?

Anytime you feel convenient, but always have it at the back of your mind that you should try to "fix" what made the VO feel unsure of in your last interview.
So what changed? Gotten better funding? Got More Confident? Changed school? Changed sponsor? Got more documental evidence? These are just few of many reasons/why's to reapply.

Shoot your shot. Atimes VOs even make errors in their decision. They get overwhelmed, they don't pay attention, they conclude before hand etc. So reapplying is an option.

Good Morning Everyone It’s time I post this, want to thank everyone on this platform. You guys are really doing well I really learnt a lot from this platform, which made me to get my friends to interview me before the main day. Honestly before that day I had 10 questions I practiced the answers that was filled with so many big words and all that but honestly the night before I was like u know what, just let it flow and be urself. This isn’t my first time there and these people are humans just be urself and let it flow and say the real reason why you are going and all.
I was nervous oo when I got outside, my phone even fell flat on the ground I was so upset cause I didn’t know where to start from in repairing screen but I put that aside. By the time I got inside I was really calm mehn I was praying within me and thanking God for answered prayers

First attempt
VISA APPROVED: Abuja 8:45am 13th December 2021.

Course of study: Masters of Business Finance
School cost: 40k
School: University of Baltimore
Graduate assistantship: Nil
VO: white tall guy kind of bald

Me: Good morning
VO: Good Morning Ma
Vo: pass me your I20 and passport
VO: Have you travelled out before
Me: Yes
Vo: you have been to the US, when last where you there
Me : 2019
Vo: Why this course/ why you doing this degree(can’t remember the exact way he said it)
Me: Having had my undergraduate degree in accounting and working I feel now is a great time to advance my career
Vo: Why the School
Me: Can’t remember what I said but it was just 2 sentences
Vo: I can see you are an accountant
Me: Yes I am, I work in XYZ company
Vo: Who is your sponsor, what does he do
Me: My dad is my sponsor, he is the ceo of the company where I work
Vo: Smiles.. that’s nice I see
(The worst thing about this interview is the way they type my Godhe was typing so fast and I was praying as he was typing father I thank you, take control)
Vo: how long were u in the states the last time
Me: 3 months( Omo thought I blew it here)
Vo; (he raised his voice) 3 months what were u doing during that time and who did you stay with
Me: I went for my holiday with my dad and I stayed in his friends place( bear in mind that where I stayed for 3 months is also where I am going to school so I was just praying)
Then I was like they aren’t my relatives oo just my dads friends
Vo: him smiling and laughing saying it’s okay to have friends
Then he picks of the white paper and says everything looks good it usually takes a week to get the passport and pls bring your i20 when coming to the US and that was it my people

Infact my passport was ready the next day mehn and they sent me an email to pick up. Now I saw a lot of people being interviewed and I think one mistake I see is trying to cram our answers, it was really sad seeing a grown man asked a question what is the conference you are going for about and he couldn’t answer it. So pls it’s okay to be nervous but just know deep down why you are going there and what you are going to do, dress and look confident. Most importantly pray to the God you serve and to those they didn’t give don’t give up, I applied for Canada two years ago and wasn’t given and when I was given this one I was like God probably had a plan for me.
