Okay thanks, but my own now is that in public service will they still recognize my degree when I'm done with everything? Or do I need to write for study leave? Because I read somewhere on NL that without applying for study leave any certification you present after you've been recruited into the civil/public service is usually considered invalid.

The advice he gave you was simply the best. Take the job now and the rest can be handled in the future. Look at it this way, even if you are prevented from using the degree certificate you are currently on because you did not apply for study leave as you feared, nothing stops you from using the certificate in question from applying for other jobs. Also, in say a worst case scenario, you apply for the study leave and go back to school to get another degree if that is what it takes to get you upgraded. It is an all-round win because which ever the case, you are gainfully employed. Like he said, the opportunity may not present itself again. I hope you make the best of the opportunity.

Is it good or bad idea to accept a job offer into the public service with my o level result while still studying to get my b.sc? As anyone succeeded in converting after obtaining their B.Sc degree.

I'll be done with my studies next year November, should I accept this job offer and apply for an upgrade once my B.Sc comes out? Or is it impossible to upgrade?

If the job offer is free then I think you should take it because you stand to lose nothing infact you get to gain a lot in terms of experience, connection (people) and money too. When you get in there you can build relationship and from there you can ask because it is the insider that we know best. All the best sir.

To an extent you are right sir, but you must also understand that whether the proposed finance bill that will give FIRS the autonomy to collect custom duty is passed which I myself believe will be difficult politically it will still not stop them from receiving a fat pay check based on the structure/plan already instituted by the new DG ( Col. Hameed Ali). The salary as well as the allowances will not be affected, was it not the same way they said this same FIRS will collapse when some states started dragging VAT with them but go and check there outrageous 2022 proposed budget (crazy and laughable) coz I don't want to talk too much.
Note there are some agencies that doesn't generate any kobo and yet collect mouthwatering salary and allowances depends on how you are able to convinced the FG and Lawmakers like what the DG of NDLEA is doing or has done to increase staff salary and allowances.
