Buhari Given Reasons To Release Nnamdi Kanu Before Christmas by Salisu19(m): 7:29pm On Dec 22, 2021 |
Human Rights Writers Association of Nigeria, HURIWA, has reminded President Muhammadu Buhari that his integrity and credibility would be dangerously imperiled should he not keep to his solemn promise and release the detained leader of the now prescribed Indigenous Peoples of Biafra (IPOB) Mazi Nnamdi Kanu from the custody. HURIWA told President Buhari that it would be disheartening to say that when confronted with unimpeachable appeal for the release of the detained Kanu, he failed in his promise. The group recalled that President Buhari had provided the clearest optimism to a delegation of a South East group led by First Republic Minister of Aviation, Chief Mbazulike Amaechi, who visited him in Abuja to intercede for the separatist movement leader. It recalled that President Buhari said although he would consider the request for the unconditional release of the IPOB leader, it was a rather difficult demand more so when the matter is in court. In a media statement by the National Coordinator Comrade Emmanuel Onwubiko and the National director of media Miss Zainab Yusuf, HURIWA asked President Buhari to deliver a happy Christmas present to the South East by releasing immediately the detained Kanu before Christmas. HURIWA said releasing the detained leader of IPOB will bring about the beginning of a period of sober reflection and negotiations for lasting peace to reign in the South East of Nigeria and the Country at large. “People watched President Muhammadu Buhari from all over the World discussing with reputable traditional, non partisan and spiritual leaders of Igboland who visited him to plead for the release of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu and the President accepted to consider the request. “But many weeks after, the Prisoner of conscience detained for canvassing for peaceful self determination has not been released. In the Spirit of Christmas we urge President Muhammadu Buhari to release the IPOB leader and to integrate the Igbo speaking population into the top positions in the internal security architecture of the Country to restore a sense of belonging “. 1 Like

It is not Buhari that is detaining Nnamdi Kanu. Buhari represents the proverbial voice of Jacob hand of Esau. The Fulani oligarchy that Kanu stepped on their toes are the people holding Kanu. Buhari wasn't interested in Kanu. He has received similar insults from other Nigerians without going after such people. Kanu means Igbo to Fulanis. Holding Kanu is like holding Igbos. Igbos should know this and know peace and directions. 2 Likes |

This one no get sense any more .Talk to Judiciary to release Kanu unconditionally .the mater is already in the court of law .it is above Buhari to release him. Only what you can expect from Buhari as Christmas gifts and happy New year will be ,Remover of petrol subsidy, more Tax for Nigerians,Nigeria unity is not negotiable, our Economy is in better position,I will fight corruption,Electoral bill will be sign in to law if Senate do the needful and some other fail promises as usual. Telling Buhari to release Kanu is like telling Dog to release the Bon in its mouth. 6 Likes 2 Shares

Tingotoe:I will believe this if you are Igbo or from South South. I know Fulani wants him dead for opening the eyes of the Hausas. Now in the South we have come to know the difference between the Hausas and Fulanis. Now when there is issue up North Hausas go freely in the south saying they are not Fulanis. |

helinues: Lol. Why are Igbos begging Jubril? The Suadanese in Aso Rock does not care about any Nigerian and Kanu should know that since he was there when Buhari died and Jibril al Sudani took his place as Nigerian President. What a childish set of people. 3 Likes |

Salisu19:These human rights organization is a terrorist organization. Upon all the people that Namdi Kanu killed, this useless organization still didn't sympathize with their families rather they are telling buhari to release the murderer. This useless HURIWA is a terrorist organization and should be treated as such. 2 Likes |

It's quite unfortunate because PMB does not interfere with the court of law. The case was adjoined till January in the court of law and PMB cannot order the release of Kanu whose case is before the court of law. They should channel these energy to the court of law and dss, not to PMB. Kanu would be a very lucky man if he is released before 2023 if not his case will be 2023+8years more. 2 Likes |
