damoskid:Are you for real!!!, btw is he a confirmed Vet? because pyometra was taught to us in 500 level during O and G. Please confirm your vet. Meanwhile, still go for the general check up. When you're back we will discuss the pyometra issue. The pyometra issue is a solvable problem, please put your mind at rest. |

She says she knows about it but she’s never handled it. I’m leaving home for the check up now, I’ll update you once we’re done. Thanks doc. |

Hi Doc, I just got a GSD puppy and she is 7 weeks old. May I know what are the necessary vaccinations/drugs required for her wellbeing? |
Re: Talk To A Veterinarian by seunH: 1:34pm On Dec 23, 2021 |
sylva1:Good afternoon sir and congratulations. First you would need to get multivitamins and vitamin C, It helps in boosting immunity. Then I'll advice you get fipronil® spray on standby in case of ticks infestation (prevention). For the vaccination, you would have to visit a Veterinary clinic/hospital where the appropriate vaccination regimen would be administered by a qualified veterinarian at the right age starting from now. I wish you the best sir 1 Like |

Gnosticstudent:I'm so sorry once more Sir, but let me drop a little advice Sir. If possible it's better to go to a Vet clinic as you're likely to come across a qualified Vet, than those who do house visits. But all the same I'll be on standby in case of emergency |

Re: Talk To A Veterinarian by Gnosticstudent(m): 6:12am On Dec 24, 2021 |
seunH: She's been treated by the vet. According to the Vet, she was administered anti emetic, vitamins, and was dewormed. She still threw up like a couple of times since we got back from the vet yesterday morning. Still not eating and has been just on glucose solution. How long from your experience does it take for a puppy dog to begin to eat after deworming? Thanks. |

Good morning Doc, Merry Christmas, I have a. 8 months old female gsd, I noticed for like a week now a sudden drop in appetite, at first I thought it was a change in environment, but continued over a week, gave several favorite food but no changes, she will just pick the chicken or meat on top, I noticed more brown urine, brown feaces, low appetite, lot of fur shedding…took her to the vet yesterday but he said it’s worms, gave her deworming injection and I also bought albiovit multivitamins…I am still worried because no changes since yesterday, she is not eating, no watery stooling(Infact the feaces are hard) no vomiting. |
Re: Talk To A Veterinarian by seunH: 8:25am On Dec 24, 2021 |
Gnosticstudent:Good morning sir, I'm so sorry once more. At the Vet clinic you went to yesterday, were tests conducted on your pet esp parvovirus? Because from what I'm seeing above, it may not just be a case of worm infestation other diseases may be involved. Rarely do worm infestation cause severe vomiting except in very severe cases. I'm also surprised why no antibiotics were given to you, atleast to prevent opportunistic infections. As for your question, deworming normally does not have significant effect on appetite and should begin to eat very soon depending on the severity of the infestation. For now try and be observant and inform me of any development, I'll be on standby. |
Re: Talk To A Veterinarian by seunH: 8:42am On Dec 24, 2021 |
Clakyvip:Good morning sir, I'm so sorry, please calm down, all will be well. I'll like to ask a few questions sir. Were tests conducted before the Vet said it was worm infestation? If Yes, then be patient sir, you have nothing to fear although it would have been better if atleast a broad spectrum antibiotics was included. If No, then you'll have to ensure it's done to rule out any other disease. I'll be on standby |
Re: Talk To A Veterinarian by Clakyvip: 8:52am On Dec 24, 2021 |
seunH: No test was conducted, just made the Diagnosis based on the signs and symptoms. I will be patient as advised. |

Re: Talk To A Veterinarian by Gnosticstudent(m): 8:43pm On Dec 25, 2021 |
seunH: The Vets unfortunately aren't available till Monday and the others are reluctant to assist. She is still on glucose solution, still vomits and stools... I wish I could get you to see the nature of her stool. It's dark brown and liquid.. Say 90% so. The last vomit was this morning at about 11am. It's was kind of slimy, really like mucid. The last stool was a few moments ago. My worst worry is the fact that it still won't eat..No food since Wednesday.. Despite vitamin shots from the Vet. Deworming and Anti emetic Winnie is a terrible shadow of herself. Please is there any good and potent medication that can make her eat, bring back her appetite... Thanks |

Good day doc what do I when my dog is having stalled labor (like delay in contraction) during labor, when there is no vet on speed dial and the labor falls at night. Is there any drug i can administer or something. Pls help |
Re: Talk To A Veterinarian by seunH: 8:01am On Dec 31, 2021 |
Euphoria081:Good morning sir and sorry for the delay. There is not much you can do than to keep her warm and tender loving care, pending when your Vet arrives or better still once it's morning, rush her straight to a Vet hospital. Please don't be tempted to use Oxytocin, the way some people may advice you, it's a drug that should be used strictly under veterinary supervision except you would cause more harm than good. I hope this helps |

seunH:Good morning doc, what can we do to a doc with severe tick infection. The dog is very weak and can't move. Location is far from a ve |
Re: Talk To A Veterinarian by seunH: 7:53am On Jan 02, 2022 |
Excel70:Good morning sir, I'm so sorry. First of all, I want you to ensure she is hydrated with glucose also. Then get a tick bath for example Cypermetrin. Dilute and bath her with it once she is a bit stronger. For now avoid systemic acaricidal. It will be administered later once she is strong. Although your best bet is taking her to a Vet clinic, but since you said it's far let's manage the above. Please next time once you observe tick infestation call for help immediately before it gets to this condition, and get Fipronlil® spray for preventive purpose. I'll be on standby |

Good day, Doc. Pls what can I ise for convulsing rabbits? Some days ago I saw a dead rabbit and wondered what happened to it. Two days later another was Dead. While feeding them this morning, I noticed one was weak. The next moment it started jumping and rolling itself on the ground. That was when I noticed it was actually convulsing . No rabbit vet around me. What can I do? Thanks. Please the affected species are all Hylas. Got them December. They are between 4-6 months. |

Hi Doc, my dog is still bleeding slightly since mating her on 27th/29th Dec 2021. Today's the 17th day since the first mating. Should I be worried or it's simply going to stop in a couple of days? Hope to read from you soon. Thanks. |
