1. Even the so called fight between mothers and daughter-in-laws is all in the head. I have never seen any in real life. What we have is the media blowing up rubbish and to-be wives entertaining pre-conceived prejudices and negative expectations about a marriage they haven't even entered.

The world is full of naturally difficult people, complex humans, easygoing, gentle, stubborn, etc. We have introverts, talkatives, extroverts, Gen Y, Gen Z, Gen X, etc. Mother-in-laws are not aliens, they belong these various categorizations. So an extroverted mother-in-law or a talkative may find it difficult coping with an introverted wife.

This is the reality everywhere, from church to the workplace. Let's stop blowing up rubbish.

Let me try.. the father-in-law is happy always that a man found his daughter eligible for marriage and knows she is safe under the man's protection. All the things he can't do anymore for her due to aging, her husband will do it and more.

The mother-in-laws on the other hand might want to play lord over the wife or see her as a competition for her son's affection. Note it's the young wives today that'll become the loathed mother-in-laws tomorrow so it's a women thing.
