Osinbajo: Nigeria’s problems will multiply if we break up.

Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo says Nigeria’s problems will increase if the country breaks apart.

The vice-president spoke on Thursday when members of the Muhammadu Buhari/Osinbajo support group visited him in Abuja.

Osinbajo said “it is wrong” for Nigeria, which is the largest economy in Africa, to break apart.

“We must never relent in ensuring that we keep to the ideals of the country and we don’t lose sight of what we are trying to achieve here,” he said.

“People who suggest that the country breaks up, whatever may be the reason for their views, are certainly not correct and we must say so to them at every turn.

“The unity of this country is important for all of the different ethnicities, religions, everybody. Whatever the group or ideology, unity is important for every one of us.

“If you fragment, the problems are going to multiply, poverty will multiply.”

Osinbajo said the president remains focused on putting an end to insecurity, adding that the challenges bedevelling Nigeria will be resolved soon.

“The president has always remained steadfast and focused in resolving the problems of the country beginning with security,” he said.

“He is a steady hand; he is unflappable, he is not panicky, he is focused and looking at the security issues every day, and trying to advance the best possible solutions.

Earlier, Usman Ibrahim, the national coordinator of the visiting group, commended Osinbajo for his commitment to leadership and promotion of national unity.

Ibrahim said Osinbajo’s performance in office, his humility, loyalty, professionalism and dedication to duty were enviable.

Death to the blood sucking contraption that survives on the blood of her innocent citizens. Nigeria is an anathema that must be discarded to save lives. The more time we waste, the deeper we get entangled in the labyrinth of destruction. Unwind the shithole so every party can flow in accordance to their wavelengths. Our destinations are clearly not the same and our paths are totally unlike so why should we be in the same travelling bus? Common sense is very far from Nigeria.
God Bless MNK
God Bless ESN
God Bless IPOB
God Bless Biafra.

Stop living in a fool's paradise. If Nigeria breaks up, everyone will find a way to survive.

BTW, it's funny how these politicians who benefit from one Nigeria would say anything to keep it going, forgetting that they are not talking to fools.

Was not expecting him to say otherwise.
Truth is Nepotism, Ethnicism, Religious differences & other divisive forces are greater than Patriotism, Nationalism & other uniting forces. So sooner or later the centre would be unable to hold.

I don't understand what's wrong with this old men with their warped reasoning. If Nigeria breaks up today, there won't be any Nigeria talk less of her problem. Arewa's problems will be for them likewise Biafra's and Oduduwa's. So he should worry about Oduduwa's and leaves us alone.

As if there are not many problems with the failed United Nigeria. Many nation nations have separated & are better for it.Former USSR is one of them.

Imagine some people forcing hisbah & operating Sharia law above constitution democracy yet dragging back the country backward.Yet these people are tell us that the unity of Nigeria is not negotiable.

The taste of oil revenue is so sweet and the thought of any adjustments to the constant flow of juicy oil drip can be heart breaking. Politics is a easy way to hammer, since those elites didn't create any viable job. Many of those politicans can't function properly outside government same with E-rats paid to post annoying stuffs daily on nairaland. If we can have like 10 people of Dangote caliber, the society will be a happy one.
