MisfitHPG:So dumb and lame. How some people here disgrace themselves by showing how ill- mannered or uncultured they are still baffles me. It is an undisputable fact that we all are entitled to our opinions. If Someone typed something you do not subscribe to or agree to,that doesn't mean you should go on a disgracing spree showing how morally depraved you are. 2021 is almost coming to an end, get some sense before 2022 finally unveils itself 3 Likes |

During Covid-19 or not they are working to save lives and here you are speaking at the comfort of your house, abi! As far as you are concerned, they should be satisfied, especially when the Nigerian govt ( State and Fed)are not sincere to workers negotiation- ask Nigerian Labour Congress and ASUU till date! Tell me what other Professionals are doing that is far better than those Doctors who saved lives,! The day you are bundled into emergency, then you will know that it is only the Doctors that have rights to declare if someone is alive or otherwise! Nonsense talk! 1 Like |

macdominic22:What I'm saying is that Nigerians should stop asking for much (not just this medical stuffs) when they're inclined to pay little for it.. If they want the best, they should learn to pay for it.. The year I entered the university, the VC increased our acceptance fee 5X and school fees by almost 2X. Now at least I'm seeing the changes in the school. New LTs and classrooms being built here and there. Now all the classrooms in my faculty has ACs and the building is being completed. Students protested when the school fees, acceptance fee and hostel fees were increased.. The same students complain when they don't have enough classrooms for lectures and unequipped classrooms. They want to enjoy American standards of school yet they don't want to pay for it.. Just so you know, I'm the one paying my school fees myself and fending for myself with the little barbing that I'm doing.. So don't think I'm having things going easy for me.. But I've always known that if I want the best, I should pay for it.. 1 Like |

How about you compare the average African country?? Like Algeria, Morocco and Tunisia how much they pay their medical graduates, then compare with your useless country. |

I’m tasking you to compare the average salary of a Nigerian Dr with that of Dr’s from Morocco, Tunisia, South Africa, Algeria and compare same with Nigeria. Stop getting ahead of yourself with US AND UK because you’re yet to accept that Nigeria is a shithole, you’re looking for a bigger fish to match d1ck size with. |

The Guardian learnt that they contracted the disease during an emergency caesarian operation conducted on a woman, who was bleeding and admitted at the hospital, but unknown to the doctors that she had Lassa fever. A source at the hospital confirmed that the pregnant woman was rushed to the hospital over complications arising from Lassa fever, but the consultants, who attended to her, though it was pregnancy-related complications. The woman and the baby died some hours after the surgery. It was further learnt that the test result showed that she had Lassa fever, which actually led to complications that resulted in premature labour that necessitated her being rushed to the hospital on emergency. The source also disclosed that one of the doctors, who performed the operation died last week and that the test result confirmed that he died of Lassa fever, while the second doctor died yesterday. Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the hospital, Mrs. Ruth Namo, confirmed that the two gynecologists died of Lassa fever. It would be recalled that the state Ministry of Health last week declared that Lassa fever outbreak was imminent, as two cases of the disease was reported in the state. macdominic22:I don't charge my clients chicken change. Since I give them the best service and the salon where I work is a bit standard, I should be paid more money for my good service and for the comfort they enjoy in the salon. A barber that opens a barber shop using planks with one small standing fan and isn't that good in his job shouldn't be expected to be paid like a professional barber that spends money in his barbershop and has the best equipment that can give his customers the best comfort.. I hope this answers your question. |

KaluwisxPRO: Thank you for this reply. Sometimes the views of some people in the social media makes one feel that this country is hopeless. A doctor who cares for them is to be paid 40k as hazard allowance and they can't even ask how much is paid to the doctor who takes care of Buhari where he goes. Or how much is politician's newspaper allowance. |

Insulting the doctors is not the way forward. It is not free money. In most employment pay their are allowances due which makes up their month end take home. Those insulting the doctors decision to reject and comparing docs to nurses should continue. Go find out how many doctors are leaving , have left or about leaving Nigeria. Kwontinue not valuing what you have. When last have you visited a hospital. Let insiders tell you how many doctors have left the hospitals for abroad. Their rejecting should be meant with further negotiation. Unless you are a doctor then you can understand them. HE who wears the shoe knows where it hurts. This is a good one from FG but it must not stop there. And doctors please please please save more lives |

You call them ingrates yet you have never protested your senators and house of reps members who collect hundreds of thousands as hazard allowance for just warming the seats in the assembly complex. This is why I always say that Nigerians deserve the hardships they're going through now and even more! People who are exposed to serious hazards on a daily basis are protesting against allocation of chicken feeeds to them as hazard allowance and you shout them down as ingrates, while people who do not face any form of hazard but get millions as hazard allowance for just warming a bench are not protested against or insulted as ingrates. There is really a fundamental problem with Nigerians, seriously! helinues: 1 Like |

You don't need to make comparisons with the UK and US. The comparison you should make should be between the doctors who face hazardous risks on a daily basis and collect peanuts as hazard allowance, and your senators and house of reps members who collect millions as hazard allowance for just warming the seats! You can't say Nigeria is too poor as a shithole to pay doctors but not too poor as a shithole to pay millions to senators for doing nothing! The problem is not the lack of money or funds. The problem is misplaced priorities! Channel such funds to those who deserve it more and you'd see things work out in this country. Find out how much senators and other politicians in the countries you mentioned (Morocco, Algeria etc) earn as hazard allowance compared to their doctors and you'd see why you really have no point here. lexy2014: Where do you expect the huge allowances to come from? Are you contributing anything meaningful to a health insurance fund like in UK? There are less than 500 legislators and about 50,000 doctors and 200,000 nurses in govt employment, and you expect them to collect payment like the politicians? Why are private hospitals who collect huge bills from patients not paying the doctors and nurses better than govt owned hospitals? How do you pay better from the chicken feed charged at govt hospitals? Even if you share the entire budget including salary, allowances, running cost and overhead of NASS to all medical staff of govt it's barely up to 40,000 monthly for each of them. |

What do you mean ? Every other area of practice carries its own risk. Lots of lab scientist have gotten ailments from running test for patients, nurses have also gotten ailments from caring for patients in the ward, same goes for pharmacist who day in and out counsel patients. No risk is greater than the other. You should always remember this before you open your mouth. CaptainAyub: |

Ingrates...Some of these so called doctors are not even exposed to Hazards. Those that are even more exposed to Hazards don't even receive close to what they will be receiving now or what they are proposing... What happens to a Nurse that is always there with his/her patients or a Medical Laboratory Scientist who will always handle patients samples... They only want to use the huge disparity in hazard allowance to deceive the general public that they are more important than others in the health sector. INGRATES |
