Firstly, medical school has never been free or "almost free" in Nigeria.... As far as all the public universities in Nigeria is concerned, they are the ones who pay the highest school fees among all faculties and departments in universities....
Moreso, as far as Nigeria is concerned, the only risk lawmakers are facing is from fellow evil-minded politicians, doctors are exposed to communicable diseases daily, in fact medical practitioners are all exposed to several diseases, they live with the risk of death daily. The allowances paid to lawmakers can never be justified by the useless stealing job they are doing. How people are paid newspaper allowance of over 1m, newspaper that they are supposed to read regardless of being paid for it or not!
Medical practitioners are not part of the highest paid anything in Nigeria, in fact they are underpaid in Nigeria, because how can a surgeon be struggling to collect #1m salary after studying for over 14 years while their counterparts all over the world collect more than 10x the amount monthly....
Mind you, we haven't even discussed that lack of facilities on these practitioners part, non- enabling environment and irregular payment of salaries....
We have a lot of work to do in and on Nigeria

Well said . Nigerians really need to unlearn a lot of this soo called slave mentality. People are struggling for their rights and then they begin to call them ingrates . How on God’s Good Green Earth can a doctor be paid that meager amount of money for hazard allowance . Let’s face it . Nigerian politicians are one of the highest paid in the world for what ? For being corrupt , making bad decisions? Making laws that are favorable and will benefit only them , Sitting down in expensive attires ? Like what exactly are they doing ?

Politicians are being paid alot of allowances that are kinda ridiculous and insulting to the average Nigerian. Wardrobe allowance , Fuel , cutlery allowance , sitting allowance ? , Etc some of it worth millions of naira . SLS said something some years ago
That if politicians salaries can be rationed to a half of what it presently is . Nigeria would be able to pay NYSC graduates almost a 100k but they kept shutting the man down . From this problem to that problem .
