Given the paucity of time, and the fact that some of us here have one or two things that could keep us busy and not have enough time for this thread, I suggest that we pick up the award process from where we left last year.

That means the award categories used last year should be maintained for this year, and the criteria too..

What do you guys think?

1. Each members of the nomination committee would make 3 nominations for the category under review.
2. The nomination is for the football year 2021 under review only.
3. The performance of players/teams in the national team is what are going to use for the nomination.
4. In the event that there's there's a tie in one of the nomination category, a tiebreaker would be held whereby all committee members would cast their vote to decide who makes the final nomination.

So, if this is the consideration, we cannot nominate a player like Dennis despite his exploits in the EPL so far?

Because, to be honest, aside Osimhen, I really do not think any player had an outstanding year in the GwG this year.

I actually deliberated on this and I think safarigirl is right.

I will back my support with some points.

First one was Kanu winning the player of the year for I think 99-2000 had a lot to do with his performance for Arsenal. His glory hat trick was the icing on the cake and it was not National team performance.

Secondly, what ever Dennis is doing will still reflect on the country. He is still flying the flag of the country.

So I think we should now include club exploits too.

Remember Enyeama's exploit in Lille still reflected on the country.

Time isn't on our side.
